Outfoxed - Rupert Murdoch's War on JournalismDirector: Robert Greenwald
From producer/director Robert Greenwald and the upstanding crew at Disinformation comes Outfoxed, a scathing exposé on Rupert Murdoch's media empire and how his Fox News station has successfully crossed over from actual news to a full-fledged propaganda machine. The DVD includes the 77-minute film, plus a half-hour behind-the-scenes documentary that goes in depth on all aspects of the production, featuring interviews with the editors, producers, and graphic artists all the way to the fateful people whose job it was to monitor the network for an extended period. Also included is a trailer for another Greenwald production, Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War, the first in a trilogy of activist films that includes Unprecedented: The 2000 Presidential Elections and Unconstitutional: Civil Liberties After 9/11. One downside of the disc is the exclusion of any scene selections, though that is a minor complaint and shouldn't affect viewers upon their first viewing.

I found this movie to be more poignant than Farenheit 911. It shows how the media, specifically FOX News can warp the views of so many americans. I find the points made here are more important than those in Farenheit 911 because it is very much the lies of the right wing media that allows and empowers the kind of behavior that is detailed in Moore's movie.
Finally, someone has decided to portray Fox News Network as the Republican Lap Dog that they are... by providing us, the viewer, with an alternate look as to what goes on behind the scenes at FNN before any show and by giving us a glimpse at the concept 'business before journalism', hopefully, the public will open their eyes to the simple fact that media bias exists. They actually admit that it's cheaper to have two people going at each other than to find 'real' news. And that Fox's slogan 'fair and balanced' actually means a tipped scale in their favor at all times.
This documentary effectively points out all instances of FNC bias, and gives you an insight as to what is behind the sham, most notably the Murdoch ties to Ronald Reagan and the Bush family. It shows their techniques very well, and how FNC reporters (a la Bill O'Reilly) keep their shows right-wing bias, especially with telling liberals to 'shut up' while letting the neocons explain their ideas fully and with respect. I would recommend this film to anyone, regardless of political belief. It is a great value, and it effectively does what it promises to do: expose FNC. This film fully exposes the charade and joke that FNC is. It does it so well, it may force their current fans to admit that their favourite news channel is anything but 'Fair and Balanced.' "with funding from moveon.org," which is a far left wing organisation. They have no problems with what NBC, CBS, CNN, ABC reports because they are also left wing. But Fox that may seem right wing only because they aren't ultra left like the others. Since I have started watching Fox, I at first felt they were biased. After watching for years, and comparing to what others were reporting, I now know Fox is the only one REPORTING the news, and not REPEATING what others with an agenda want the public to hear. This docucommentary is a joke and biased from the start.
