Good action thriller worth a look at least.

This was a pretty good movie, which stuck to the book in the begining. However, as the movie progressed, Hollywood took liberty after liberty to alter the story line. While some change is understandable (after all, if the book and movie where the same, the movie would last 9+ hours) the movie goes too far in changing many scenes which would have been far better copying the book. The biggest problem with this movie is that many things don't make sense without the extra information that you could get only from the book. Unless you read the book, half of the movie just seems sloppy, made up, and unbelievable. The worst part was that the movie left out the part where the British investigator saved Sean Miller from a brutal prison rape, only to be shot by Miller, who states his belief that gratitude is for dogs. While I enjoyed the book tremendously, I strongly reccomend reading the book before you watch the movie. Even then, you don't have to watch the movie unless you really want to. The one good thing I do have to say is that I thought Harrison Ford made an excellent Jack Ryan. Alec Baldwin was decent for the part, but I think Ford helped capture the ''Joe Everyman'' concept behind Ryan. (Though either would have been better than Matt Daimon)

As re-tired marine, Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford), is vacationing in London, a plan to kiddnap the royal family is exucuted. But the wits of Ryan kick in as the IRA kiddnaping goes wrong. After Ryan killed one of the Kiddnaper's brother,IRA terrorist Sean Miller(Sean Bean) will not sleep until Ryan and his family are dead. This is a great movie. One of the best Jack Ryan films.

I agree with the part about the book being much better than the movie. I also think anyone who's interested should read the book BEFORE they watch the movie. Also, Matt Damon never played Jack Ryan. That was Ben Affleck.
