paula's * get up and dance video* is amazing. she teaches you step by step dance routines which are great. i honestly do recommend this video to dancers out there. it is fantatic.
My 13 year old daughter and I bought this DVD in the hope that she would lose weight, and regain her muscle. Once you try this out, you are hooked! You don't have to drag yourself to exercise anymore. You actually look forward to doing this workout. It isn't complicated, and explains each dance step by step, so you won't be frustrated. My daughter lost an inch on her waist after 1 1/2 weeks of working out. Take my word for it, and try it!
I never stick with an excercise routine, but I've done this one five days a week for the last six weeks, and I love it. I am a TERRIBLE dancer so it was a little tricky for me the first week or so, but you can just keep moving or rewind a little. Eventually you'll catch on.
Excellent workout, folks. The warmup is kind of long to me, but once you get into the dance moves you'll start having fun. Enjoy!
This is a wonderful workout. You need to have some coordination to do it though. If you have 2 left feet this may not be the video for you. It shows you the dance steps slowly and then you build up rather quickly to faster steps. Then, at the end of the workout, you put all the steps you've learned together and go through it a couple of times (mega sweat time). Like any video, it takes time to learn and then you can have more fun with it. However, if you have knee problems or coordination problems I don't recommend it because you could hurt yourself trying to follow. Otherwise, it's really fun and you will not get tired of it very easily.
Although not easy at first, it is a terrific challenge and you will be proud when you can do all the moves. If you are not a dancer, it may take 3-4 times to catch on, but it is definitely attainable even for the novice. I love the energy that Paula Abdul and the group give out and it makes the work-out go by so fast!
...because that song goes on forever during the warm-up of the video. However, if you like dance videos, this is a pretty good one. I get tired of it occasionally but the people in it are funny. A warning: if you work out where someone might see you, this may not be the one for you, because the first time I was doing the video and they started to do the YMCA, I was actually embarrassed! Just close the blinds and it's kind of fun.
Be warned - this video moves fast, and I love to dance and consider myself a pretty good dancer. Also, be sure to warm up very well - I partially tore my Achilles' tendon doing one of the jumps. Not good.
This video really didn't do anything for me...there was too much repetition for me. I got bored a couple minutes into it so I am not sure how the end is because I never got there, perhaps it gets faster and more entertaining. But I always skip it when I am picking a workout video for the day.
i have to tell you that i was once a dancer & some of the steps were a little tricky...just make sure that you're coordinated before you buy this
i take jazz dance, and i know how well paula dances, but this was well advanced. she didn't really break down the moves, even though it starts slow, i think there could be more explaination. i recommend this for people who are well advanced in dance instruction, because you won't get much help here.
