This documentary produced for PBS -- which marries color newsreel footage with vintage radio broadcasts and readings of period news stories and the journals of soldiers to offers a new perspective on America's involvement in World War II -- gets a simple but solid presentation on DVD. The Perilous Fight: America's World War II In Color has been transferred to disc in its original full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1, and the audio is mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo. In addition to the complete feature, the DVD includes excerpts from four other documentaries on the war, as well as additional footage prepared for the film but not used in the final cut.
