Disney's classic animated feature about never growing up, Peter Pan, comes to DVD in a brand new special edition. This transfer is featured in the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.33:1 full frame. While inherent problems exist due to age (including a small amount of grain), the bulk of this transfer looks crisp and very bright. The colors and black levels are all even and well saturated. In short, this is the finest looking print of Peter Pan yet. The audio is presented in a new Dolby 5.1 remix in English. The sound on this disc still has a very distinct flatness to it, though there are some instances of surround use in the front speakers. Otherwise the bulk of this track is confined to only the center speaker. All aspects of the dialogue, effects, and music are free of any distortion or hiss. Also included on this disc is a Dolby 2.0 soundtrack in French and Spanish, as well as English subtitles. Fans will be thrilled to see the amount of extra material on this disc is more bountiful than Captain Hook's own treasure trove. To start with there is an insightful commentary track by Roy Disney, as well as interview segments with Leonard Maltin, John Canemaker, and Jeff Kurtti, among others. This is a well-edited track with tons of information about the making of the movie. Two featurettes, "You Can Fly: The Making of Peter Pan" and "The Peter Pan Story," are included that run a total of 30 minutes combined. The first featurette is a retrospective that features interviews with various crew members and fans. The second dates to around 1953 and is a promo piece for the theatrical release of the film. A still frame gallery includes about 60 stills of discarded concepts, character development, and promotional items. A singalong feature lets kids croon to their favorite songs karaoke-style. Finally there is a read-along for "Peter's Playful Pranks," a trivia game called "The Pirate Treasure Hunt Game," and an exclusive look at the newly released sequel Return to Neverland. Also included in this initial DVD release is a coupon for six dollars off the theatrical release of the sequel. For fans of this animated classic, this DVD should please on all levels.

I received a worn out, used dvd. The item I chose never said it was used. After sending an email to the Seller, I never received an email back and Barnes and Noble said they can't do anything about it. Poor customer service.
YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!! NOT ONLY IS BOOT-LEG MOVIES AGAINST THE LAW. BUT THAT YOU FEEL IT IS O.K. TO STEAL MONEY FROM PEOPLE AND PIRATING MOVIES FOR A BUCK IS O.K. MAKES ME SICK.
Everyone should have a library of Disney classics for their children and grandchildren to enjoy. This story is charming and has Tinkerbell, the little fairy that enchants little girls everywhere.
It was in great condition and fast delivery.
Very disappointed in what was to be a "new" Peter Pan dvd. While the item was shrink wrapped, it was clearly a photocopied cover and labels on the two dvds inside. No paper dvd guide was inside the cover either. I was very disappointed that the gift I gave my daughter for Christmas ended up not being a true copy of Peter Pan.
One of my favorite Disney movies.Peter Pan is a definite must have for any Disney movie fan.
I purchased this DVD set for my 3 1/2 year old son. He loves the story, the characters and the action. It is the movie he requests nearly every evening and wants to take along with him every day. I will admit I enjoy watching it with him too. The movie has also inspired him to play Hook and Pan with his mates and tell his own pirate stories. It has sparked his imagination and enchanted him. We have also rented the Return to Neverland and Tinker Bell movies which compliment the original story.
As any Disney classic how can you not like it or learn from it. Disney classics are always recomended.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie!!!! Yes, I am pre-ordering! Finally!! Besides the Little Mermaid this was the other movie I was desperately waiting for to come out in a 2 disc edition. I absolutely loved this movie as a kid, I absolutely love it now. March 06, can't come soon enough!!
What can you say about a classic? It's a classic for a reason! Great fun! These Disney movies can be a bit scary for the wee little ones, but everybody should own them before they go back to the vault. I purchased this for my eight month old little girl to enjoy in a few years down the road. I will save it, and when she is old enough I will give it to her. After all, I think these movies go into the Disney vault for ten years, so if you want it, get it now before it's gone.
It's been so long since I had seen this movie! It's even better than before since I'm able to reminisce about my childhood and sings the songs along with the movie. Go and share it with the world!
This is a A+ fil. It is a treat for all ages it was a perfect film in the 20th centruy and it stands as strong and tall, this centruy.
i love this movie, because i feel like tinker bell in real life. i feel like im three foot shorter than everybody and no one can see how good i look in a mini skirt.
Although not quite as painterly or detailed as the the cartoon features of the late 30's and early 40's, this spirited, unpretentious adaptation of the Barrie classic deserves a high place in the Diney canon for merely the 'flying over London'' sequence alone; the remainder of the film never quite matches that segment despite the fine quality of the animation. This was the first movie I ever saw and it holds a special place in my heart.
WOW! By far the greatest story ever told! Every time I watch this film I am wisked away to a magical world unlike any other. I can fly, fight pirates, & hang out with all the lost boys. I think it's beautifl to think of a land were you never have to grow up and can play with as many children you want to untill you all get tired and go to sleep together. Truely a fantastic adventure of wonder!
