    PRETTY GOOD PILATES DVD

I would recommend this Pilates DVD. Its difficulty is moderate to easy compared to a real mat class. The instuctor Ana Caban is really good and knows her stuff. The excersises are ones commonly taught in a mat class, so it's nothing too out of the ordinary. I liked this DVD.

    Pretty Good

Ana Caban is an engaging instructor, but I wish there was more diversity on this dvd and that there was an easy way to skip the intro talk. Otherwise, pretty good.

You should do Pilates: Beginner Mat Workout

I have several tapes with Ana Caban and she is a very good instructor. If you feel that she does not give enough instruction in this tape, then you should purchase Pilates: Beginner Matt Workout. In this tape, I feel there is too much instruction and not enough mat workout. By the time you reach the intermediate level, you should be familiar with correct positioning and movements.

    Excellent work out

I bought this DVD to supplement weekly and biweekly pilates classes. It is great. I am 66 years young. A couple of the moves I am unable to do. Like sitting down like a Genie and push ups but I keep going. I am currently looking for another Pilates dvd for variety. Not interested in Yoga.

An intermediate workout-- it will make you sweat!

This video is great! It will make you sweat and you will feel good while doing so! The moves are done in quick succession, flowing one right into the other. There is not time for explanations, thus, if you are familiar with the basic positons, and breathing then this is the video for you. If you are a beginner, I would wait on this one. Re: Video production: The video cuts often, however, you won't notice after the first couple of times as the workout is great! I wake up early to do this 40! minute workout -- it does not seem long at all! Teaser on!

    Great Intermediate video

I love this video. I bought it after working with the beginners video when I decided I was ready for a more intense workout, and I got it. The instructor moves quickly from movement to movement, but if you have done the beginners video before it wont be a problem. She uses a lot of the same moves as the beginner video but they are more challenging variations or done in quicker succession, with only a few new (and tough) moves added in. And if you get the DVD version it comes with a great bonus energy workout. When I really want to push myself I do the two workouts back to back. You definitely feel it the next day, but not in the tight painful way that you get from lifting weights. Not only do I great results but I feel renewed after the workout. Ana Caban is also a fun change from most exercise intructors. She is a nice balance between the overly intense, boring types and the hyper aerobic teacher types. Also, although she has a beautiful body, it doesnt look like she does nothing all day but workout and eat gerbil food

    Not very successful......

The instructor may be knowledgeable and know how she is supposed to do Pilates. However this, sadly, doesn't make her good at teaching what she knows. She doesn't give enough explanations, nor enough demonstrations of the movements. There are a few basic Pilates principles that should be carefully followed in each and every step of the way like pelvic stability; body alignment, lateral breathing....etc. She doesn't seem to be able to communicate the basic points well. I think she should be constantly reminding her students that while working their body out they should also be working their minds, and stay focus, aligned, hollowed.....etc

    Fun to do

I really like the two Living Arts pilates videos. You don't sweat much, so its great is you don't want to get messy. But its a good workout for the abs and I do feel it afterwards. I hope they come out with an advanced.
