hen you think of classics, this has to be at the top of the list! So much emotion, that you really feel for the little wooden puppet and want him to become a real boy. Made in 1940, but still relevant today. Get it while you can.

The greatness of Disney's second full length animated feature is so obvious that waxing poetic about it is at this late date is over-redundant. Suffice it to say that the grounbreaking acheivement of SNOW WHITE a couple years earlier came to full fruition with PINNOCHIO; FANTASIA and BAMBI soon followed, culminating in the most brilliant phase of Disney's career. No other animated feature has blended storytelling, imagery, music and sound as successfully as PINNOCHIO has and the more recent Disney and Dreamworks creations don't hold a candle to what ''Uncle Walt's artisans did 60 some odd years ago

Engaging for young children. They learn from the growing nose, and go through the sad parts to a happy ending

It is great to see this movie on dvd. This is a classic Disney movie. The songs,Jiminy Cricket, and the story is still wonderful. This is a great movie that the entire family will enjoy. You will laugh and remember when you first saw Pinocchio. This is a great movie to start or add to your Disney movie collection.Go buy this movie, even if it is for your kids as a gift.

Pinocchio does NOT glamorize smoking and drinking. In fact it goes out of its way to show that bad actions can have dire consequences. No one got off Pleasure Island scott free. Every little boy that ended up there had a painful and frightening transformation into literal jackasses and were shipped off to the circus or to work in a mine. Not even Pinocchio, who in the end is rescued by his conscience, gets away unscathed.
Pinocchio is a wonderful movie, but it does have situations that are not appropriate or may be too scary for the very young. I had fond memories of watching this from my childhood and I'm looking forward to when my toddlers are old enough to enjoy this classic with me.
I LOVE DISNEY MOVIES.

Pinocchio is a Disney classic and to watch it in blu-ray makes the characters lively. My 4-year old son watches Pinocchio over and over without becoming bored.

We were shocked and dissappointment with watching the Blue-ray version of Pinocchio - we had forgotten how we have changed in our culture...no more smoking on shows, in public places and certainly no encouragement in children shows. The age of Pinocchio comes out when you see these, almost distasteful scenes, where cigarettes are a norm. The children's island was full of negative children behavior; I cannot understand what we were thinking if we watched this as children. I certainly would not show this to my grandchildren; they are fortunately growing up in a more health conscience environment.
