Director Gore Verbinski and the crew set sail once again for this, the third chapter in the swashbuckling Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is hopelessly trapped in Davy Jones' locker after a harrowing encounter with the dreaded Kracken, and now Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) must align themselves with the nefarious Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) if they hold out any hope of saving their old friend from a fate worse than death. The East India Trading Company and its fearsome leader, Lord Cutler Beckett (Tom Hollander), have taken control of the ghostly Flying Dutchman and its captain, Davy Jones (Bill Nighy), and now the baleful Admiral Norrington (Jack Davenport) has taken the helm in a relentless bid to destroy every pirate ship in his path and bring the Age of Piracy to a violent close. Meanwhile, Will, Elizabeth, and Captain Barbossa navigate treacherous waters and face bitter betrayal as they set sail to gather the only army that can stand up to Beckett -- The Nine Lords of the Brethren Court. But Captain Jack Sparrow is one of the lords, and as long as he's stuck in Davy Jones' locker, Beckett and his nefarious armada are sure to emerge victorious. There's still hope, however, if the heroic team that includes Tia Dalma (Naomie Harris), Pintel (Lee Arenberg), and Ragetti (Mackenzie Crook) can reach exotic Singapore and convince vulpine pirate Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat) to provide them with charts and a ship. But even the powerful Brethren Court may need a bit of help from volatile sea goddess Calypso in order to weather the coming storm. With the entire future of the pirate way at stake, everyone will be forced to choose sides while drifting precariously to the edge of the earth for one final, spectacular battle.

love the pirates
It's so out standing that my friend, and my family saw it three times in the theaters and my parents said that it was their FIRST TIME SEEING ONE MOVIE THREE TIMES IN A ROW AT THE THEATER!!!!!!!!!
At World's End had alot of weight on its shoulders. Not only did it have to succesfuly end the series, but it also had to revive the series after the step down taken with Dead Man's Chest. Story: The story like all of the previous installments, was confusing. The film unsuccessfuly throws several subplots at you without touching an any of them enough. With several differant plots floating around, it's very difficult to discern which one will play the biggest part, and which one you should pay attention to. This said, the story is fleeting and rather unsatifying. Acting: Johhny Depp offers a good performance, with the annoying slap-stick of Dead Man's Chest toned down abit. I have completely given up on Bloom and Knightly since there characters never really go anywhere "not in the literal sense" and are not as explored as the previous two installments. Unfortunately, the talents of Bill Nighy as Davy Jones are rarely touched on when the stellar performance that could have been gleaned from the actor is completely abandoned. Special Effects: Of course the special effects are good, it's ILM. However, it seems that ILM has become lazy of late. I am completely able to tell what is visual effect and what isn't from ILM's previous projects. I think that ILM may be dethroned as WETA digital begins to shine even brighter in the effects world. All that aside though, I must commend ILM on the amazing climax it fabricated. The ship battle during the maelstrom was spine-tingleingly exciting. Music: Pretty good, not much differant from Dead Man's Chest or Curse of the Black Pearl. Hans Zimmer's Score is good but I always preffered Klaus Bedalt's score. Bottom Line: At World's End is a decent action film, with a rather bad story, stale yet decent acting, annoying jokes that don't work, good Effects, good music, a fanominal battle sequence, and giant women that babble in french and then turn into crabs. Don't come if you like movies that make you think, you'll get no such non-sense here. This film isn't a big award winner, isn't the best in the series, and won't win Depp his Oscar.
This movie isn't great cinema. The least satisfying in the trilogy of pirate films. Before seeing it, I was so excited with the great cliffhanger ending to Part 2. But I think we might have been cheated out of what would of been an excellant film. I know how people complain about the length of the first two pictures. The timing was right on the first two. But really? 168 minutes doesn't cut it. Literally. Of course, Johnny Depp again plays a wonderful role. Many things were bizarre at times. A fifty foot woman anyone? The special effects were indeed amazing from ILM. The final battle was incredible. That, Keith Richards cameo, Sparrow and the wonderful performance of Bill Nighly as Davy Jones, and the very, very, very beautiful Keira Knightly nearly keeps this movie afloat. But I did love the ending. It was well done. I've always loved the writing of Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot. Especially how their flowing and witty diolaugue keeps Jack Sparrow - well Jack Sparrow. Bloom and Knightley's relationship seems to go nowhere until he pops the question. But that doesn't last long. But I don't blame the people making this. Especially Gore Verbinski the director. It's hard especially for an action adventure film with gigantic budget and special effects topping the other. That is a very hard thing to do. But is give them credit for the freshness it brings to the trilogy. I always think of some series of films to stand on their own feet and you don't have to think about the other movies from the series. But with this film you can't help but do. Because it's a trilogy and some other worse reasons. I liked the action, I liked the special effects, I like Depp's Jack Sparrow and I especially liked Keira Knightly. Sometimes I couldn't help but think that I wanted to watch the first movie again. The best installment. The one that got me and the whole world interested in pirate films again. It started off great. But this ship is almost sunk. ** and a half stars out of ****
As Far As I know!, this has got to be the best movie of all time!, because of many resons, and there is so many resons, that It would most likely take up all of the space on my reviewing this movie on this site so that should b e all that you need to know, that this is basically the best movie ever made!. And by the way I'm a movie critic who's giving this movie a total of five stars!!!!!, So that should explain how awsome and amazing this this movie is in all ways, shapes and forms!. Movie Critic. Atlanta Ga.
Nothing is ever going to beat the Curse of the Black Pearl, but I thought this movie was fantastic!! The visual effects were awesome and the story line was perfect. All the characters still in perfect form and still just as hilarious. A must-have!!!
Man were we all excited about the third and last? movie in the series having to wait for the trailers ans such. The first time I saw it i thought it was a bit long and confused like the 2nd one and sort of liked it then the second time i watched it i loved it and wasn't confused anymore, though always and forever the original and first will always be the best but i'm glad they brought back barbossa who's one of my fave characters next to sparrow.
Depp as Jack, is extremely entertaining! I'm not sure real pirates are this funny, but it's definitely worth watching!
This movie was fantastic. I can't even begin to explain how awesome it was. The time and devotion oozing from the movie is quite obvious. The actors/actresses worked tirelessly to perfect this movie. The writers made a fabulous churning plot that was huge. Soooo many twists and turns that I did't expect. Im sure im the biggest potc fan ever and I didn't even expect half of what happened. It was truly amazing. I loved the climax at the end. Fantastic work. I won't ruin it for those who haven't seen it but it was amazing.
A amazing, action, adventure conclusion to the "PIRATES of the CARRIBEAN" trilogy. Johnny Deep's performence as "Captin"Jack Sparow is outstanding.
This movie was awesome! The plot of this particular movie was much different than the first two ... a reason that many people have given for the dislike of this movie. I, however, feel like it was a nice change of pace. All three are great ... but this one was awesome! I can't wait to purchase it and watch it over and over, as I have the previous two.
I am one of the biggest Pirates of the Caribbean fans out there, and I was nervous going to see the third one because I was worried it wouldn't turn out as AMAZING as the other two, but that was SO AWEsome!!! I saw it so, so many times in theatres, and can not wait for the DVD on December 4th! Everyone included in these films was OUTSTANDING, and deserve millions and millions of awards.
I have a hard time with the writers of a film series bringing a character back from the dead. However, this is what they did in my near-most favorite movie series. This was a flaw, as was the ending of the film, which took me completely by surprise but doesn't make entire sense. Quite frankly, where the second 'Pirates' was very supernatural-oriented, this third installment is off-the-wall. But there are scenes in this movie, particularly the final battle, that make this movie so enjoyable. While it did not conclude the trilogy in an entirely satisfying manner for me, it was fun and downright cool enough to buy, and see the behind-the-scenes bonus features.
I lovelovelove Pirates of the Caribbean, and I'm one of the biggest fans out there. I'm in love with the third movie. I went to see it four times in the movie theater and I can't wait to buy in on DVD!!!
I cant wait to own this DVD! I have been a HUGE fan of Pirates for many years. I cant wait to watch this DVD over and over. I am really excited to see the extra material and see all the behind the scenes footage!
