    Lacks the Suchet/Christie sparkle

In my opinion, these particular Poirot's did not live up to the quality of the original Suchet episodes and movies. The sets and costumes were well done, but the scripts were weak and did not live up to the books for character and plot develpment. The actors tried to do a good job, but the direction and editing produced slow and unsatisfying shows that did not have the intellectual sparkle of a Christie plot or Suchet performance. A couple of the shows also had gratuitous sexual scenes which, although not necessarily pornographic, definitely were not needed for a Christie mystery and actually seemed to intrude on the suspense. Death on the Nile was the best of the selections. The plot was more faithfully followed and Suchet was actually allowed to show some of the passion and personality of Poirot. If you like mysteries, these will be okay. If you are an avid Christie and Suchet fan, you may be somewhat disappointed. If these are the first David Suchet Poirot's you watch, don't let the slow pace keep you from viewing the other collections--they are much more entertaining.

    David Suchet is Poirot!

After watching the early Poirot mysteries with Captain Hastings, Miss Lemon and Inspector Japp, it took a little time to adjust to the different pacing and the lack of banter among the main characters with which we had become accustomed. We found the mysteries in this set even more riveting and closer to the Christie books than the early Suchet Poirot mysteries.

    I love piorot!

These movies are great! They are entertaining, fun, and just a pleasure to watch. The are good mysteries, with a little intrigue, and some humor. I think they are great entertainment.

    Intrigue

This one is really good. It is suspenseful all the way thru. The women are great actresses. It also has great scenes of Egypt. Poirot is at his best in a different way. Lot of travelling.
