I just bought this DVD but have checked it out from my library for years. I teach high school, Earth Science, and volcanoes are part of the currriculm. I enjoy making the connection between science and history. This is an amazing film showing how Pompeii looks today and combined with a few human stories. The students learn a lot about ancient Pompeii and this film generates great discussions. The second part on this DVD is about gladiators and one of the first recorded battles fought in the colusium with an actual written record. This DVD would be great family entetainment.
