Pooh's Heffalump Movie

Overview

A.A. Milne's famous stuffed bear and his pals learn something about acceptance and understanding when a new animal comes to the Hundred Acre Woods in this animated comedy. When Winnie the Pooh voice of Jim Cummings hears a strange noise in the woods, he and his friends are convinced that the dreaded Heffalump -- a critter not unlike an elephant -- has come to the woods to do them harm. Pooh, Piglet voice of John Fiedler, and Tigger also voiced by Cummings set out to capture the fearsome beast, but Roo voice of ...

Pooh's Heffalump Movie features four new songs from singer and songwriter Carly Simon.

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
How comforting to return to the Hundred Acre Wood, where friends come in all shapes, sizes, and species. This charming animated feature introduces an adorable new character to Disney's enduring franchise based on A. A. Milne's beloved books: the Heffalump. This mythical, elephantine creature, long dreaded by Winnie the Pooh and company, reveals himself to brave Roo as playful and friendly (and you know what they say: Heffalump is better than none). Roo discovers that "Lumpy" (voiced with a British accent and contagious laugh by Kyle Stanger), whose capture is the goal of a comically ill-fated "expotition," is just as scared of the Hundred Acre Wood crowd as they are of him, especially "the stripey thing that bounces" (Tigger), "the little pink monster that squeals" (Piglet), and "the loud thing with long ears who yells at everybody" (Rabbit). Roo reassures him that all are okay "once you get to know them." But can he convince Pooh and company? At a mere 68 minutes, Pooh's Heffalump Movie briskly bounces along. The youngest viewers will identify with Roo, who is initially told he is too young to go on an adventure so fraught with danger (and, emphasizes Tigger, "you can't argue with a word like 'fraught' ") but who carries the movie's "getting to know you" message of tolerance and making friends with those who are different than you. Lumpy is "just like us," Roo pleads. With its traditional animation, Carly Simon's dreamy and playful songs, and beloved characters, Pooh's Heffalump Movie is, to quote Pooh, "nice and summery" and "warm as a blanket."

    I Also Recommend:

A great movie about overcoming stereotypes, making friends with those who are different.

A wonderful movie from the Winnie the Pooh series that teaches about not paying attention to stereotypes, not vilifying others, making friends, and how the young can lead the way to peace. However, my six-year old, who is not often exposed to frightening situations as in other Disney movies, found this movie too scary and intense. "Piglet's Big Movie" was less scary for him and he laughs out loud each time he watches that one!

    Pooh can't be beat

Pooh's Heffalump Movie can't be beat. As usual it is entertaining and fun to watch. The beloved characters get into their usual troubles and my grandchildren love watching Pooh and the gang trying to recover from their funny situations. Any Pooh fan can tell you that Pooh and the gang are heart warming and lots of fun. The best thing about Pooh and his gang movies, is that they are fun without getting scary or nasty or using fowl language. A good time is had by all, even adults. I highly recommend Pooh's Heffalump movie to anyone who is between two and a hundred and two.

Pooh's Heffalump Movie - Delightful for young and old

This is fun and lighthearted movie that is fun for parents to watch with the children -- especially those who already know the Pooh stories. My 2 and 4 year-old grandchildren enjoyed it immensely and so did I. No scary scenes, no violence, just plain fun with a good story.

    Beautiful Movie!

As a grown up, this is a beautiful movie all about accepting differences in others. My two-year old just adores it becuase Lumpy is bouncy and fun, just like she is!

    great

This is a great movie for toddlers as well as my generation. The music just alone, was great. My grandaughter wanted to see it over and over again. It is one of a few movies I don't get tired of when she does.
