I thought this movie was a waste of time! The acting was horrible, and it took forever to get moving. The only thing I thought was clever was the fact that his mom was dead and that he is the psycho. I haven’t seen the original one, so that one might be better. I don’t recommend this movie to anyone, useless you want to be bored to death. There was only 10 minutes of excitement in the whole two hours of the movie. Vince Vaughn however did an ok job portraying his character, Mr. Baits. I thought the movie was very cheesy and was a waste of time. Grant it was suppose to be a replica of the original, it was still horrible. I am not recommending this movie to anyone!

This movie was the worst movie I have seen in years. I am close to being a professional critic, and, I think this movie down-right dull. It wasn't scary at all, and I didn't like the plot. If you want to rent Psycho, please pick up the one that came out 44 years ago.

The headline explains it! For any who have seen Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 original Psycho, they know that it is the irreplaceable blueprint horror classic. However, although this film does not even attempt to replace the original, it did something much better -- preserved it. For those living in the 21st century, this 1998 remake (shot-for-shot remake) immortalized the film with the brilliant direction of Alfred Hitchcock in 1960 and the special effects abilities of 1998. This film, as director Gus Van Sant (Psycho--1998) stated, was most directed at the young people of the 21st century who had never experienced Psycho. And how triumphantly that was accomplished! Highly recommended for every horror fan!
