Overview

Two classic British science fiction films are given the deluxe treatment in this special limited-edition DVD release from Anchor Bay. Quatermass and the Pit has been transferred to disc in letterboxed format at the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1 (and enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors), while Quatermass 2 is presented in the full-frame ratio of 1.33:1. The audio for Quatermass and the Pit has been remixed for both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround, while Quatermass 2 is in Dolby Digital Mono. Both films are in English, with no multiple language options. Both films have been given their share of bonus material for this edition; Quatermass and the Pit includes an optional commentary track from director Roy Ward Baker and screenwriter Nigel Kneale, as well as trailers and television spots and an installment of the British television series "The World of Hammer" on the studio's sci-fi output. Quatermass 2 also features a commentary from Baker and Kneale, as well as the film's American trailer.
