Overview

Every generation a few people will become big celebrities for no other reason than that they are famous for being famous. The Rainbow Man was one of those people. During the '70s and '80s, he would appear at major sporting events wearing a brightly colored Afro wig and cavorting around until he caught the attention of television cameramen. But in the 1990s, the once free-spirited Rollen Frederick Stewart (AKA Rockin' Rollen) became an evangelical fundamentalist Christian and after that became certifiably insane. Featuring a fascinating blend of archival footage and contemporary interviews, this documentary paints a tragic portrait of Stewart's life and the deadly combination of religion and the lust for fame that cost him his mind.
