it was just the kind of movie my husband likes. A lot of action and kept you intrigued the entire movie. We definitely loved the surprise ending. I think the main actors did a great job.

two of my favorite actors, together again. i really enjoyed the plot twists, it kept me alert.

De Niro and Pacino, you know it is going to be good. As a person who watches movies over and over again along with purchasing movies to add to my collection, this is a definite addition.
These two actors are like Lemmon and Matthau, except instead of a comedy team, they are a action, suspense team. If movies like No Way Out, Usual Suspects are what you enjoy, you need to add this to your collection.
Deniro and Pacino are so darn good, you could watch them read a phone directory. With fellow heavyweight Brian Dennehy, and Mesrs. Wahlberg and Leguizamo the cast is first class. Mr Jackson, aka 50 Cent, is quite good as a thug club owner; as is Miss Gugino, who has her own issues in the film. There is an underlying mysoginistic tone that most will find distasteful, however I don't believe it is gratuitous. Visually, the film is very well directed; the plot is solid, though not extraordinary. The Deniro-Pacino-Dennehy dialouge is more than enough to recommend Righteous Kill.

Granted, I figured out who the real killer is early on, but that doesn't diminish the fact that this is a suspenseful cop thriller.<BR/><BR/>Perhaps the critics savaged "Righteous Kill" because of its politically incorrect dialogue, specifically in regards to women. In any case, it doesn't matter. What matters is this movie has an interesting story, top-notch actors in Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino, and hard-hitting action. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.The trail of good cop/bad cop films grows longer as does the fascination with Serial Killers (witness the success of the excellent television series DEXTER where killing of 'people who deserve to die' is condoned). RIGHTEOUS KILL is a good story with problems: the script is wrinkled with aphorisms, the direction allows the dialogue to overlap so often that subtitles are required to keep the viewer alert as to what is happening, and the music score too often drowns out what could be heard of the actors' voices. But at the core of this much-maligned film is a tour de force for two aging actors (actually three) in Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Brian Dennehy. Jon Avnet works with crusty lighting effects and photography to create a sense of tired, aging, worn out detectives who show us a side of law enforcement we'd rather not see. <BR/><BR/>Turk (Robert De Niro) is seen in the opening in a videotaped monologue about how he came to kill 14 people while in the line of duty. His partner is Rooster (Al Pacino) and the two of them run their mode of law enforcement in their own style: even their boss Lieutenant Higgis (Brian Dennehy) gives them free reign. An event occurs which triggers the concept of a serial killer whose murders of 'worthless street trash' victims who are tied to crimes for which they escape punishment. Turk's fellow detective (an S&M girlfriend) Karen (Carla Gugino) becomes suspicious as do young detectives Perez (Leguizamo) and Riley (Donnie Wahlberg) - the idea of the perpetrator being a cop drives the 'honest cops' to extremes. The twist at the ending could have had more impact with a better script (the work of Russell Gewirtz), but the interplay between De Niro and Pacino makes the entire film and ending well worth watching. <BR/><BR/>Great movie? No, but given the flaws and the overexposure of the theme the 'old guys' carry it off and provide a riveting, fast paced film worth the attention of more viewers. Grady Harp

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged."Righteous Kill" is a very well-preformed movie that is acted to an fairly written script (the credit goes to writer Russell Gewirtz. Writer of the 2006 bank heist movie, "Inside Man"). Throughout the movie the main actors of the film Mr. Pacino and Mr. DeNiro are referred to as Rooster and Turk (for a specific reason, that would be best for me to keep hidden). They are two partners that are the best in the PD and they are sent to hunt down a serial killer that is suspected to be a cop. <BR/> <BR/> "Kill" is well-acted, has potential but in some aspects fails to use it but, you just don't know what it needs. What is a disappointment is Mr. Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, personally Mr. Jackson should have not have been casted for this film. I think Jackson was good in the 2005 hit "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" but, otherwise there was something missing from his role. Maybe it's the lack of time he actually has on film in this movie (which is about only eight simple minutes). Mr. "Cent" doesn't really contribute much in this film. The top best roles in this film was Mr. DeNiro and John Leguizamo who also plays a cop. In other words this was good movie with a few holes but, it is worth the money you by it for. A good 3 out of 5 stars.<BR/><BR/> By the way to tell you, you will figure out why they called the movie "Righteous Kill," at the end of the movie; and you will realize they could have though of a better name.
