When building an '80s film collection, I suppose this one is probably a duh. See if it you have not already. You will probably like it, even if you hate Tom Cruise. I would call it a dark comedy, but the comic treatment should be visible from start to finish. It's the story of Joel, who is left alone at home while his parents take a trip, and the party madness that ensues, including Lana, a hooker that becomes a good friend by the end of the film. Good film, good story, good characters. I suppose there really isn't much more to ask for. An '80s classic. And yes, this is the one where Cruise dances in his underwear. Hahaha.
