    Great music, irritatiting editing

Loving the original Riverdance video, and having seen Riverdance twice in London and once in in Dublin), I was irritated and upset to see the dance sequences in Riverdance: Live From New York City edited so that the viewer cannot enjoy the choreography. Most shots last one or two seconds. We get one quick cut after another: a brief long shot of the dancers entering the stage, a short medium shot, followed by rapidly changing close-ups of moving feet, smiling faces, side views, another two-second long shot of the dancers, and so forth. Fred Astaire was never like this. Put the DVD in the player, forget about trying to watch the dancing, and enjoy the mood pieces, the music, and the singing.

    A True Musical Classic

A most outstanding program! It captivated my attention in the beginning and kept it to the very end. The program was most exhilarating as it moved along. The program flowed very well from one stage to the next. It became better as it progressed with the grand finale in which each key player was individually as well as collectively acknowledged. Colin Dunne and Jean Butler were great as they complemented and blended very well together. They obviously enjoyed and liked working together. They seemed to both seem to dancing and floating on air a great of time. All of the other dancers were terrific as well. They were obviously well trained and enjoyed the dancing that they were doing in the program. The Riverdance Singers were great as well. The lead female singer has a tremendous voice that held me spellbound each time that she sang a song. The section of coming to new world blended the old with the new in a very smooth fashion. The dueling taps along with the various Riverdance dances showed how close and similiar many things are in life. The Riverdance Orchestra was fantastic. They were the glue that ultimately made this a classical show. I have repeatedly watched this program as it is very inspirational as well as being a true musical classic. If this classical music show ever returns to my hometown, I definitely plan to go see it.

    A Truly Spellbinding Performance!

The Riverdance is a musical masterpiece. The dancers, singers, and orchestra were extremely good. I respect the sheer amount of work it had to have taken to get all 30+ people of the Riverdance troupe perfectly synchronized in the movement of their legs while dancing. Truly a must-see-live event!
