    An Outlaw or Hero?

This show brings to life Robin Hood in a way that I cannot describe in mere words. You MUST see the show in order to fully grasp all the emotions and the storyline. I recommend this to anyone who loves the story of Robin Hood or who loves shows from the BBC.

    Addictive!

We stumbled across this series at the library, and tried it because Robin Hood has always been one of our favorite stories. (The book by Howard Pyle is the best! Keeps you in stiches the whole time.) At first we were skeptical...it was very different from what we were expecting...but by the 4th episode or so we were hooked. The characters are very intriguing, and, unlike alot of tv shows, you can't always guess what's going to happen. We really got into it, and got our friends into it too. It would be acurate to say we went through a period of obsession. :)It is not as light hearted as Robin Hood traditionally has been, and the action isn't that believable, but that doesn't detract from the show. I can't wait to see season 3!

    My All Time Favorite

I stumbled into this series in only clips on sites and I was hooked and felt I NEEDED this. Never before had I spent so much on a series I never saw before but I was not disappointed. I love this adaptation of an old story. It has a brilliant cast which delivers love, humor, action, and integreted plots. I simply adore this show and recommend everyone to see it.

    Hot !!!

This is by far the best series about the legendary character of Robin Hood. I have always loved the story of Robin Hood and this series did not disappoint me! The actors are perfect for their roles- they make them come alive: you believe in them, you pull for Robin and his followers, you despise the Sheriff, and love/hate Sir Guy. The plot lines in each show are believable, and at times cliff-hanging. My whole family loved this series!

    Robin Hood Season 1

Yet another adaptation of the hero of sherwood forest. From watching the preview it looked alright. I liked the scenary though the story was the same old but had some good fight scenes. Wondered who else could of played the title character, oh well, when it comes to updates of old stories i would say that the doctor who update is better though robin hood was not bad.

If I tell you where I am, can I claim the 20 pounds?

When I first found out that the series was BBC, I admit to being skeptical, however I was not dissapointed by any means! This series is by far one of the best Robin Hood films I have ever seen. The characters are wonderful and the script is fabulous. There is a perfect mix of comedy, adventure, romance and drama, and it is an altogether great series! I havent stopped watching it since I got it!

    Superb!

Before I watched the first episode I was biased. I mean, how could any series compare to the Michael Praed/Judi Trott series of the 80's...I can still hear Clannad now. But I was shocked at how good it was. And I was hooked after that. This series is one for this generation for sure but any age will enjoy this show. It has romance, adventure, fashion (Marian is a modern woman in the middle ages) and even political themes that we can connect with today.

    This is Spectacular!

My friend told me about this series and I picked up in the middle and DVR'd some episodes and was finally like "sigh" Ok I'll watch it and I got SO hooked on it! Even though I only saw it from the middle "and out of order too cause I didn't know which came first" I LOVED IT!!! I watched like four episodes in a row and could hardly contain myself to wait an entire week for each new episode! I love it, my brother loves it- even my parents and grandparents love it! It's full of excitement and adventure and twists you cannot expect- BUY IT seriously. I promise you won't be sorry

    Good

The acting's alright. Though it does have its funny, cheesy, serious and predictable moments. Still it is a good show.

    OK but NOT GREAT

I love BBC and I thought I would be blown away by this version of Robin Hood. I was disapointed in it. Found myself bored with the plot lines nothing unpredictable. Robin Hood gets the Sheriff and the Sheriff gets Robin Hood. I think the storyline has a ton of potential and I think the actors themselves are good but it is poorly written script. I was expecting more out of the characters...like I wanted to love and hate the bad guys at the same time. I wanted to feel more romance and conflict over the characters. Seemed predictable and boring.

I do think this series has a ton of potential!!!!! Needs better writers and directing!!!!!!!

The best version of Robin Hood ever!!!!

I LOVE the story of Robin Hood and his merry men, so I of course was thrilled when I found this on BBC (I adore their shows) I was blown away! The acting is fantasic, Jonas Armstrong is absolutely brillant as Robin Hood, the charactors are lovable, and while the fight scenes are thrilling and the drama is suspensful it is still extremely funny. If you haven't seen it yet you definitely should!!!

    Too serious, too phoney

I'm an old-timer and grew up with the original Robin Hood series with Richard Greene and the Erol Flynn movie. I'm also an archer. There are two things that I like least about this series.

First is that the director doesn't seem to think archery is all that important to the story. The archery shots are totally unrealistic/impossible. There is no need to make them so spectacular that they completely lose there meaning. Also, the central theme of English archery is the longbow, not the laminated composite Eastern bow. Lastly on this theme is the fact that a bow would be rendered useless in short order if it were constantly left strung for any great length of time.

Second is that the series takes it's cue from most modern films in that it makes evil its own excuse for being. The bad guys are too bad and the good guys aren't all that good either. I found it to be too heavy with almost no humor (except for the stupid archery shots). Depressing, not exciting.
