Overview

Everyone's favorite futuristic cyborg is back in the action-packed sequel Robocop 2. Image has done an only passable job with this 1.85:1 non-anamorphic widescreen transfer. There are many instances of dirt and grain inside the image while black levels often have a tinge of grayness to them. Overall, this is an only mediocre picture that should someday be given a proper anamorphic transfer. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital Surround in English and is very limited to only the front and center speakers. The dialogue, effects, and music are all clear of any distortion or hiss, though this mix is very unimpressive. No alternate subtitles or soundtracks are available on this disc. Sadly, fans of this series will have to wait for a true special edition of Robocop 2; this DVD is completely bare-bones without even a single theatrical trailer to satisfy fans.

This film is brilliant. Not as good as the first but extremely close!
