    Flawless and remarkable.

Absolutely stunning tribute: so many major music stars (and others in the audience) on drums, guitar, vocals etc.--as his band! Imagine Bruce Springsteen on back vocals--and being honored by humbled by Roy--that's the spirit of this performance.

    A Legendary Concert

Roy Orbison had perhaps the widest vocal range of any of the rock 'n' rollers - certainly one of the most pleasing voices. His prolific output of hits is well represented in this nightclub concert, filmed in black and white. Guest appearances by Bruce Springsteen, who is obviously thrilled to be included; Tom Waits, who seems outmatched or at least unrehearsed; Elvis Costello, K.D. Lang, Bonnie Raitt and others fill the stage with stars who obviously dig the music. A small string section is on hand (wearing Orbison-like shades) to flesh out the original sound. Roy Orbison is note-perfect as usual, giving an inspired performance. This particular package includes a music only disc, as well as the DVD.

This is the best concert footage I've seen recorded. A must have for all music DVD collectors or just fans of good music.

    Black and White = Nostalgia

Re-live the Black and White days! Roy Orbison and a host of `Superstars` Entertain and delight not only the `studio` audience but we the viewers who have been fortunate enough to discover this quality classic. I never really was a Bruce Springsteen fan until now. The enthusiasm and the obvious enjoyment of all the Musicians involved overflowed into the audience - which had it own share of `Names`. '' I can`t believe I`m` actually going to sing harmony for Roy Orbison, I`m honoured'' said Bruce - The `Pretty Woman` finale features a magic Guitar duet with Bruce Springsteen and James Burton (ex guitarist for Elvis and Ricky Nelson) if you haven`t seen this on video or disc get it to-day..

    Superb, Excellent

Captures Roy in one of his few live performances captured on film. If you are an Orbison fan, this is a must-have. Great on home theater system.

    A beatiful DVD

This DVD, is by far one of my favorites. The camera work is beautiful and does a great job with it's angles and shots of Roy and his band. But by far the most important thing about this DVD is the sound, without a doubt, this has by far the best sound I have ever heard from a DVD, especially when you put it in DTS mode, it is absolutely breathtaking, a must have for any fan.

A great party and a wonderful sound.

First, let me introduce myself because I'll admit to being a bit weird. I'm one of those people who didn't "get" popular music. When everyone was listening to Elvis, I was listening to Dave Brubeck because I'd happened to buy the record and liked what I heard. By the time The Beatles were invading, I had become aware of Elvis because I had read about him, heard him -- but it was all past tense.

So, when Roy Orbison was making the scene, well that's about the same time as Elvis, and if I didn't... Hopefully, you get the picture.

So here I am, past middle age (unless I live to be more than 120) and I've been enjoying catching up. On this score, my wife helped.

I bought this DVD/CD set as a gift to my wife. I knew she'd love it because one day I heard Orbison's unique voice and my wife was craning her neck trying to get into the picture on her computer. It turned out she was watching a clip from the DVD on YouTube. To my credit (let me show off here), I recognized Bonnie Rait and KD Lang as the backup singers. Stories of how Orbison had given them their breaks were thrown my way while my wife jumped from clip to clip on YouTube.

I made a note to myself that this would be a wonderful gift for her, and when her birthday came, I bought it.

Conclusion: I have enjoyed it myself tremendously. Because of Orbison's broad reach and popularity, it has served me well as remedial education in popular culture.

PS to media companies: Any thoughts about this or anything else being ripped off because it on the web for free are short-sighted in the extreme. The free samples sold the product to me.

    Unique and terrific

Most of the Roy Orbison I've seen is the same canned re-doing of the same songs over and over. Not the case with this one. Great collection of famous musicians sitting in to do Roy's songs with him and they're all allowed to do their own jams during the songs. Everybody seemed to check their egos at the door and they all shine along with Roy.

A perfect performance with great backup

This is a straight through concert of all of his greatest songs, with a young Bruce Springstein playing a major part. Listening to a CD is one thing, but watching him perform with the backup players is a total experience

    Absolutely Superb!

An absolute must for Orbison fans. Masterful camera work catches the real king of rock and roll, playing with a group of superior musicians, doing what he did best - entertain and inspire.
