This production has Rusalka as a teenage girl making the transformation to adulthood. Eilene Hannan is very good- a gorgeous voice, lots of emotion and good acting. She sing the Song to the Moon very well, even when lying on her back and side. Other singers are John Trelevan, Rodney Macann, Ann Howard, and Phyllis Cannan. Not a first-rate cast, of course, but this is still a good performance. Mark Elder leads the ENO orchestra and chorus in Dvorak's wonderful music. The sound is good and subtitles are in English.
