Barnes & Noble
After years of singing in pubs and clubs, former welder Russell Watson made a fateful decision: He left his hometown of Salford, England, and traveled to London, where he turned up unannounced at Decca's offices and was promptly signed by one of the world's most esteemed classical labels. This live concert DVD was recorded in February 2002 in New Zealand, and features such Watson signatures as "Caruso," "O sole mio," and "Volare." Special guests include New Zealand pop star Hayley Westerna and Steps singer Faye Tozer.

    I Also Recommend:

It is a good show .

The repertoire is very nice and Rusell sing very good.
The performing of Hayley Westenra is beautiful but I don´t like the performing of Faye Tozer ( may be bad recording ??? )
I think the recording is not very good ,for instance, the orquestra sound very low in some songs and you can´t hear some instruments

    You've Got to Get This!

Russell Watson is an amazing talent with a voice that will thrill you if have any taste at all! He's adorable, he can sing like an angel, and he's so happy to be on the stage that you can't look away from him. His smile lights up a room, and his voice is one of a kind. He's a working guy, and sometimes he'll not get all the Italian perfect, but that is SO much of his charm. For his sake I wish more people in the USA could know and love him.........but I also want him all to myself. It's like having a secret that I don't want to share with anyone. He's not Pavarotti - nobody can even begin to top that voice - but Watson's range of voice, music, AND personality is so much more diversified and satisfying. And in my humble estimation his voice IS extraordinary - and from whence he came is a great cinderella story. You want to root for him to make it all the way to the top. I really was not a fan of Opera other than listening to aria's by Pavarotti. But what Russell gives me is personality, likability and an enormous voice that's hard to believe is coming out of him. Try him and I'll bet you love him.

Russell Watson better off by himself !

Russel Watson has impressed me which is rather difficult since I've been listening to and collecting music for over 55 years. His unique sound and range has impressed many of friends and relatives. Please don't change your demeanor which is hard to find in the talent of Mr.Russells' calibre.

    Rare Find!!

I am surprised at how versatile this young man is in singing both classical and Pop. He has a lovely, exciting, tenor voice when singing arias from different operas and then a very interesting, enjoyable voice when doing a ballad or Pop. He is TOTALLY a true performer who holds your interest until the end of the concert.......in fact the viewer and listener does NOT want him to stop. Truley amazing!!

Russell Watson: The Voice - Live

Decca Records was supportive and willing to check out my copy of this DVD. THANKS! Just wanted to let you know that it wasn't the DVD but my OLD DVD player, that was the problem. It is great to now be able to fully enjoy this wonderful music DVD. To be able to hear and SEE him, as he performs his music, is so satisfying and adds so much to the experience!!

Russell Watson: The Voice - Live

I am a 75 year old Grandmother who has never written a fan letter before but discovering Russell Watson's Live performance on CPBS Easter Sun. I just had to ''sing'' his praises. His boyish charm, big beautiful voice, good looks and stage presence are unbeatable and a lethal combination. Wonderful is the best word to describe him. Why don't we see and hear more of him in the US?? I listen to his CD's constantly. What a super talent!!!

Russell Watson: The Voice - Live

I have just recently discovered Russell Watson and wish I had known about him much, much earlier. Why does the USA not promote him more than they do?? HE HAS IT ALL!! It's hard to imagine that such a strong, beautiful voice comes from that slender, charming, good looking young man with the boyish charm and great personality. I still am not able to get his latest CD (Reprise)here in the US and can't find his live performance from New Zealand either in the music stores here. Luckily I was able to tape his New Zealand performance, on Easter Sat. and Sun. when it was presented on Connecticut Public TV. Can't get enough of him. I don't remember the last time I was so impressed by any kind of performer. He has an enormous talent and chooses a variety of music selections so diversified which is totally impressive because he can DO IT ALL. WOW!!! The close-ups of those beautiful eyes which are both tender and at the same time full of mischief say ''it all''. What a wonderful STAR Russell Watson is. I'm one of his biggest fans and have all my friends and family HOOKED on him. BRAVO!!!

    Fantastic Performance

Russell Watson is sensational!!! He has such stage presence at his early age...... a strong, beautiful voice...... (he seems to be able to sing ANYTHING and do a fabulous job) has loads of personality, slender, good looking with lots of sex appeal and the range of his vocal ability is superb. Where does this BIG voice come from??? He is a great talent and certainly is a crowd pleaser. They couldn't get enough of him, nor could I. He has that boyish charm which is endearing to all ages and a VERY BIG TALENT. Can't wait for his next LIVE performance

Russell Watson: The Voice - Live

I loved the music and he is great to watch but I could not get the DVD to work on my DVD player. I bought 2 DVD's, and neither worked. Luckily, it worked on my computer, but I wanted to use it on a player also.
