More chemistry than a lab kit!

I am sure there is more fiction than historical fact however this is a truly American love story that is worth viewing. Outstanding supporting cast. Mare Winningham & Diahann Carroll are excellent. The chemistry between Sam Neill and Carmen Ejogo is explosive! Their performances surely make the unlikely romantic pairing believable. Break out the tissue box, sit back and enjoy this enriching and so American love story.

    a reviewer

A beautiful movie inspiring, touching, romantic and um, well, SAD!! I would definitely watch it, a historical "fiction" fan or not. Sam Niell plays a dashing Jefferson and Carmen Ejogo is a perfect Sally Hemings. Their performances will break your heart! A definite favorite.... but be prepared to weep!!!
