    It's good, but not so good.

    As an English performance, especially in the Royal Opera Hause, relationship between the title role and the producer remains so important. As Dame Sutherland and her husband's cooperation, this one is between Ewing and her husband. At last this turn out to be the first Salome on DVD. All the direction is good and every role reaches a high level. One small pity is that Ewing seems not matching this role. She got the right outlook, but not the voice. The last part of Salome is a great challenge to her and I keep worry about the voice althrough. It's hard to think a Carmen's becoming a Salome.
