    A favorite for many years

I recorded this off TV when it first came out in 1999. My daughters were 9 and 6 then, and it is one of the movies we HAVE to watch together every Christmas. They are 17 and 14 now, and pick this one out of the cabinet early every Christmas season. It's not Christmas until we wathc "Santa and Pete" They choose this as one of their all-time favorite Christmas movies, along with George C Scott's "A Christmas Carol" and "It's a Wonderful Life". Hume Cronyn is wonderful as Santa, and the themes of diversity, love, and generosity are simply and effectively portrayed. This may be just another obscure Christmas movie to some, but it will always be one of our favorites.

For anyone who wants Christmas to mean more than greed, this is a very special movie. I love this show and also the book.
