Jolly old Saint Nick goes from the nice list to the naughty list when an old wager runs up and his promise to be nice takes a backseat to his murderous impulses in this comic tale of terror from first-time director David Steiman. Jolly old Saint Nick goes from the nice list to the naughty list when an old wager runs up and his promise to be nice takes a backseat to his murderous impulses in this comic tale of terror from first-time director David Steiman. It turns out that the story of Santa Clause as we know it isn't quite the whole story, and instead of being a kind hearted gift-giver, Santa is actually a devilish life-taker. It was 1000 years ago that the cherubic devil lost a bet with an angel that forced him to play nice for an entire millennium. Though he remained true to his word and spread Christmas cheer for what secretly seemed like an eternity, Santa's patience has run dry with the expiration of the wager, and when this bet runs up the legend of kindly old Kriss Kringle will never be quite the same.

    Good Horror/Xmas/B/Goldberg Movie

Not sure what other guy who did a reivew was smoking, this movie is cool if you want to sit down and watch a funny xmas movie. The one liners are good and I enjoyed the movie for what it was.

If you add this to your list, check it twice...

Those who have read my other reviews know I love a good, cheesy B movie. However, not only is Santa Slay a ‘B’ movie, it TRIES to be over the top and cheesy. The result of this paring? Something that is about as appealing as rotten limburger cheese that’s been left out in the sun for a few weeks. The story is another take on Santa Claus. This Santa is an evil, murdering monster, bent on killing everyone. The murders themselves are filled with more bad one liners than a kindergartener’s comedy routine, and the fact that Goldberg is the one delivering them doesn’t help matters. Most of all, the biggest problem is that this movie is TRYING to be over the top funny, but it’s so low budget it can’t quite get there. Yet, the fact it’s trying to be funny ruins its kitsch value. Also, fans of Goldberg may or may not like this. It’s not his best work. Over all, there’s a lot of better Christmas movies out there, and there’s a lot better horror movies out there. This is just in the middle of everything, and that just makes it mediocre. I would recommend renting this one before you invest in buying it.
