Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Chas Turner
In this live rendering of her hit album La Luna, soprano powerhouse Sarah Brightman once again delivers an entrancing vocal performance that embraces -- and somehow unifies -- remarkably disparate material. On the heels of her previous video smash, One Night in Eden, the angelic chanteuse eschews the show tunes and instead shines her crystal pipes on pop material that ranges from the ethereal "Scarborough Fair" to the idiosyncratic "A Whiter Shade of Pale". As expected, Brightman also graces numerous classical numbers with slinky arias by Rachmaninov and Beethoven. Brightman seems to relish making odd choices, and she doesn't disappoint here, thanks to movie maverick Ennio Morricone's "La Califfa" and the trip-hop beats of "This Love." While the programmed rhythms on some songs may seem quirky, her adventurousness is bound to win her new fans and deserves to score points with her faithful legions, too. Not every artist dares to be different.

    A reviewer

The La Luna concert, to me, is the best of the three concerts (excepting the concert at Royal Albert Hall back in the 1990's). For those of us who are slightly hard of hearing this DVD has captioning which I find invaluable. The Eden and Harem concerts do not have this feature and it makes it much more difficult for me to view and listen to them. I think "Moon River" is charming and by far the most genuine of all the performances. I love Winter in July and my favorite of all is Nessun Dorma. This DVD is a certain keeper but think twice before you purchase the CD of La Luna since there are very few songs from the concert and some songs coming from "Where"?

LA LUNA - A MASTERPICE FROM SARAH BRIGHTMAN

LA LUNA - LIVE IN CONCERT. I saw the concert in Forum, Copenhagen, November 2000. The concert and the DVD are fantastic. Sarah is incredible and has definitely the best voice in the world ¿ ever ¿ anytime, anywhere. The songs are so beautiful and the choreography is fabulous. ALL SONGS ARE OF COURSE LIVE ¿ SARAH DOES NOT USE LIP-SYNCHRONIZING IN HER CONCERTS. The sound and picture on this DVD are perfect. There are 3 sound systems to choose between. The opening song WINTER IN JULY has a good rhythm and makes a wonderful atmosphere. HIJO DE LA LUNA is a very beautiful song. FIGLIO PERDUTO and PIE JESU are two church mess songs. The songs move your emotion when you hear Sarah's voice. Sarah sings LA LUNA and LA CALIFFA with her incredible bright voice. Nobody sings NESSUN DORMA better than the world greatest soprano: Sarah Brightman. In DELIVER ME and A QUESTION OF HONOUR, Sarah is floating in wires. A QUESTION OF HONOUR starts with the opera aria: LA WALLY and pass into rock/pop with a fantastic lightshow and confetti, with Sarah singing and turning around in the wires. This is the most impressive part of the concert. When I hear Sarah sings A WHITER SHADE OF PALE, I wonder why the radio stations always play the old original song. Sarah¿s version is much more beautiful. The song is both as a music video and live on this DVD. THERE FOR ME is a wonderful duet with Josh Groban. WISHING YOU WERE SOMEHOW HERE AGAIN one of the most beautiful songs of Andrew Lloyd Webber and one of Sarah's signature songs. This song has always been one of my favourite, ever since I first heard it. Sarah sits on the edge of the scene when she sings MOON RIVER and looks so lovely and beautiful. The final song TIME TO SAY GOODBYE is even better when Sarah sings it solo. LA LUNA - LIVE IN CONCERT is as good as ONE NIGHT IN EDEN. They are better than any movie or CD. You can enjoy them over 1000 times and you will still be impressed every time. SARAH there is NO ONE LIKE YOU - WHAT MORE DO I NEED?

The Best Concert I've seen in a Long Time !!

I was Lucky enough to catch Sarah's La Luna Concert twice; once in Dallas and then recently in Orlando, and I have to say that watching this DVD took me back in time to that 1st night in Dallas when as soon as She starting singing tears starting flowing...this DVD if you watch it under the right circunstances (candles, wine, surround sound)can actually become an incredible experience...it has 26 songs!, I loved the different camera angles they did,and unlike her shows; You get to see in close up her face expressions as she sings all those wonderful songs...I liked the behind the curtains extras and interviews...enough said;so go buy it,pour some wine, turn out the lights, light some candles, enjoy!
