The 20 episodes of Season 4 feature classic performances from hosts Fred Willard, Carrie Fisher, Kate Jackson, Milton Berle, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Elliott Gould, Frank Zappa, Gary Busey, and Walter Matthau. Ditto 'June 29, 2009' Review

Aside from reviewing this great SNL volume, I wanted to comment on having the exact same online purchase experience as the 6/29/09 reviewer.
The Limited Edition's first-run limited-availability is a bit deceiving, particularly with the 'regular' slip-case version depicting the Ltd. Ed. version on its back cover.
In BN's defense, my post-sale follow-ups had three of my local BN's agreeing & understanding why I wanted an exchange. As the stores were willing to swap, only one store still had the 'correct' version. Should you encounter the same online result, and lucky enough to live near a BN that has the Ltd. Ed. in stock, an even swap is very doable. (Try a BN that has the larger inventory, as suggested by my other stores.)
Sidebar: The product itself is the same between the Ltd. Ed. vs. 'regular,' except the Ltd. Ed. has a nice library-style box that holds the slip-case version. (As the other reviewer, it was a matter of having all my versions match, prompting me to hunt-down the Ltd. Ed.)

Slipcase Edition, Limited Edition 'Book Set'

I've been buying up the recent release of the original seasons of SNL. So I was excited to see that Barnes & Noble had Season 4 on clearance and bought it right away.

Unfortunately, when the package arrived I was disappointed to discover that it was NOT the Limited Edition package - that is, the 'book style' that past seasons of SNL have been released as - but a simple slipcase. This is all the more strange since the only edition pictured on the back of the slipcase is the Limited Edition book set. So I may be sending this back, if I'm able to locate a copy of the Limited Edition.

That said, this is, after all, Season 4 of Saturday Night Live, featuring the classic Not Ready For Primetime Players: Aykroyd, Belushi, Curtin, Morris, Murray, Newman, and Radner. So if packaging consistency isn't a concern, this is a stellar release of what was possibly the best season of SNL. A true comedy gem!
