With the clock counting down for all of humankind and the extraterrestrial invasion about to begin, the fearless but slightly dunderheaded heroines are joined by a series of celebrity guests including Dr. Phil, Carmen Electra, Chris Elliott, Shaquille O'Neal, and, of course, Leslie Nielsen in ensuring that the planet remains free of the alien menace and prepared for yet another installment in the over-the-top, pop-culture-deflating satire series. Although two versions of this film officially exist a PG-13 one and an "Unrated and Uncensored" one -- evidently they skipped the R version, the unrated cut only reportedly features about three extra minutes of screen time, devoted to jiggling and bouncing breast implants.

For the fourth installment of the Scary Movie franchise, the reins were handed over to the famed Zucker Bros., who just so happen to pull off a more consistently funny exercise in absurdist humor than their previous so-so third entry. Once again, the duo play their hand with far less vulgarity and the movie is more teen-friendly than the first two entries, which is very much a part of why the film hit so big 40 million dollars on opening weekend is indeed a large opening for any kind of comedy. For the most part, their lampooning works across the board, with shot-for-shot recreations of blockbusters gone by setting the scene for predictably wild sight gags and witty wordplay. With gags hitting the audience at least every two minutes, the flick manages to keep its steam going right up until its riotous finale, featuring a parody of Tom Cruise and Oprah that really shouldn't work, but does, thanks to the filmmakers' willingness to push the gags to the point of ridiculous lunacy. Best intended for audiences not afraid to work out their funny bones for a breezy hour and a half, Scary Movie 4 is an infectious and infantile horror romp that doesn't stop, which for its target audience, is just what the doctor ordered.

    Not As Good As The Third

    This movie is funny, but not nearly as good as Scary Movie 3. The ending was stupid and some of it wasn't even funny. I think they could have made it a lot funnier.

    Laughed so hard that my back cracked

    I went to see this in the theaters and I thought that I wasn't going to make it throught the hole thing because it made me laugh so hard my back did really crack.

    Something defiantly fell off on this one

    First off, I have to mention how excited I was to see the 4th film of scary movie!!!! I was looking forward to seeing it, but I have to say- at the end of the movie I found myself feeling slightly disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it’s an OK film, but it sadly lacked the comedy of the other 3 films. I was very pleased to see Brenda back however, not even she could bring this up to the standards of the others. It felt as if each scene was rushed and just randomly placed together- for some reason, it didn't all seem to fit well with each other, it was like "OK, we've done one spoof- quickly we have to do the next one" and everything seems so rushed and unfinished. Two good aspects of this movie are the USE of parody and cameos. The parodies are done so well that you can keep track even if you haven't watched the 'original' movies yet. And the makers of this movie aren't too shy having half their cast existing out of cameos. In most movies this would fail, but for Scary Movie it does the trick. Scary Movie guarantees lots of familiar faces from movies, sports, and music industry. Some actors, who haven't had the most success in recent years, like Leslie Nielsen for example, are enjoyable in this movie. They show that with a good direction they are still funny and capable of doing comedies. The writers and producers need to ensure that the next movie (if there is to be another) is not rushed, and endeavour to produce a film that is as funny as the original and its 2 sequels. If they fail, the Scary Movie franchise may end up a parody of that other great such as Police Academy. Scary Movie 4 marks itself as a decent comedy. There were some funny moments in here that save it from complete boredom. Again it's an OK watch that will help you pass a few hours and serves up some slight laughs every now and then.

    Scary Movie 4

    Even though it was kinda bad it was still funny and interesting how they use such movies from saw, the grudge 2 and war of the worlds in a parody of their own. The opening scene to the movie was especially hilarious.

    Amazing

    This movie is the best in the series. I say this because I have seen the others so many times that they have become boring. I have only seen this once and am planning to buy it. I recommend this for anyone with a mildly sick sense of humor.

    FUNNY!!!

    This is a drop dead, wet your self, laugh till your side hurts movie! It is so funny! I almost wet my self when I saw it in the movies. I am buying it first day and anyone who wants a BIG laugh should to!

    Stupid

    I'm a huge fan of all these movie but this one was just plain Stupid, I do not recomend this movie, it was unfuny, and was terbbily uncalled for, Ana Farris was very annoying, do not see this movie, It's waste of money!!!!
