Skip this one, get a different one

Sure, Where the Wild Things Are is great, but In the Night Kitchen is weird with the full frontal nudity of the the little boy. There are tons of other great Scholastic videos. Skip this one and get a different one.

    love this

All my kids have loved this, as have their cousins! We wore the VHS out years ago, I'm so happy to find it on DVD so my littlest ones will love it, too.

    Not what I expected ...

This is not a full length movie ... it is a compilation of Carol King songs set to animation that I remember from my childhood. Cute, but not what I was looking for.

It is all about the underlying messages

My daughter and I truly enjoyed this DVD - the underlying messages are key to all children......it teaches children that you should care! Definitely should be part of your collection. Quick short stories that teach children about emotions and how to deal with them.

    more from this reviewer

    Weird? No, It's GREAT!!!!

This is exactly how kids think in their head. All the stories are simple and fantastic. I love them. My kids (4 and 6) love them and asked me to watch them over and over.
If you think the stories are weird, maybe you are too matured and thinking a little too square.
The songs are catchy. Love the way it shows stories as subtitle. That is one of the ways my 6-year-son has learnt how to read.

    Bizarre

I remember some of the stories on this DVD from when I was a kid and they would make their appearance on Sesame Street. I bought it for my 3 year old, thinking they'd be entertaining. Well, I guess times have change - when I viewed the DVD, I realized how strange the stories were and not exactly as I remember them - they are a little bizarre for a 3 year old and not sure at what age they'd be appropriate. I think we'll put this one aside for a while.
