Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase

( 2 )

Overview

Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase forces the gang into a world quite similar to the Disney cult favorite Tron. Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, Velma, and Daphne are transported into a video game where they must survive different levels of difficulty in order to solve the mystery. The DVD includes a game and a "making of" featurette. A companion video game is available for many home game systems. Scooby fans young and old should be interested in this family friendly title.

    An Amusing Existential Romp

Shaggy, of course, is the Stranger to Scooby's Curly (of 3 Stooges fame, not Steinbeck)... Shaggy easiy carries this extended film, overcoming a myriad obstacles despite drug abuse, unrequited love, and a truly cynical pessimism. He is a hero in the mold of Odysseus and Heracles... mythic in scale and biblical in scope. One hopes he continues to endure despite the overtly Satantic and vicious diatribe that is Scrappy Doo (who, to my knowledge does not appear in this film, but whose aura haunts all Doo films, for good or for ill... mainly for ill).
