Barnes & Noble
One of the more celebrated cartoon series in the considerable Hanna-Barbera library, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? took to the air September 13, 1969, captivating kids with its Archie-inflected casting and uniquely charming canine lead: Scoobert "Scooby" Doo, an especially charismatic Great Dane. Scooby's mix of growl and grunt, created by 'toon giant Don Messick, easily ranks among the most familiar cartoon voices of all time. Messick was Boo-Boo on Yogi Bear, Riccochet Rabbit on Magilla Gorilla, and many more, but Scooby-Doo remains his masterpiece. Scooby's straight-humans include the goatee-sporting Norville "Shaggy" Rogers (Casey Kasem), the ascot-bedecked stud-muffin Freddy Jones (Frank Welker), dishy Daphne Blake (Stefanianna Christopherson), and bespectacled cutie-with-a-brain Velma Dinkley (Nicole Jaffe). The quintet tool around in "The Mystery Machine," a two-tone green van festooned with the flower-power imagery of the day, debunking paranormal phenomena. Each episode affords multiple opportunities for Scooby and Shaggy to tremble, teeth chattering and knees knocking, as well as the inevitable opportunity for the Scoobster to overcome his fears, coerced through "Scooby snacks." This four-disc set collects the 25 episodes that ran through October 31, 1970 -- the original show's entire run, along with several bonus features.

We play this collection pretty much every day in our house or in our vehicle for our daughter. She has good taste in toons! Still waiting for the rest of the seasons to come out!

Always throughly entertaining and unique. No one can solve a mystery like Scooby. Hoping for the one hour feature shows such as Scooby and the Harlem Globe Trotters, or with the Adams Family, Don Knotts, and Laurel and Hardy. Hoping a dvd will come out with these wonderful hour long classics and the stars.
