As obscure as this one is, it is the one Christmas Carol movie that we look forward to from year to year. But we couldn't find it on TV this year, and many times when we do it is edited for time. So it was time to break down and purchase it. The songs are wonderfully catchy, the ghosts in the beginning are spooky as all heck, the characters are well-played, and the finale makes us happy. What can we say? We like musicals, thank you very much!!

I was 12 when I saw this at Radio City Musical for my birthday. It's my favorite Christmas movie of all time! Had the VHS for years - now I'm ready to get the DVD. Does not show up on TV anymore.

This is a literary classic come to life. It is extremely well-told as well as entertaining that adults and children will appreciate. While it is a Christmas tale, its message is applicable 365 days per year.

My family tries to watch this version of Scrooge every year to get us in the Christmas spirit. We have only had a poor quality VCR taped from a previous TV viewing until we received the professional version. How wonderful it was to see the film in the original bright colors. Thoroughly enjoyed getting this DVD and will be watching it for many years to come.

I hate musicals, but I love this movie. Its perfect from start to finish with many important morals sewn into its fabric. I love the story of a man's redemption and how he was able to change the lives of the people around him when he realized how much their lives enriched his own. Dickens was a genius and who better to play a major role in this story than Albert Finney even if the movie doesn't accurately depict the book. Out of all the depictions of this story, I hold this one in the highest regards and I believe Dickens would say that this movie's mood was tantamount to that of his beloved story. Merry Christmas everybody!!!

My Mother bought this movie on VHS when I was a little girl and it's been a part of my yearly Christmas movie list since. My husband even considers it one of his favorites and he had never seen it before we met.

Of all the adaptations of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol", this is by far my favorite. The music is fantastic--singable and catchy. This film has been a favorite of my family for many years and we never get tired of it. During the holidays, we're as likely to break into one of the songs from this musical as we are a traditional carol. Albert Finney is fabulous as old Scrooge and his transformation from miserable to true happiness is very believable. This story of the redemption of a man never gets old.

This is a family favorite at our house. We watch it every Christmas season. Christmas Past scenes are infused with hauntingly beautiful music and the music of Christmas Present scenes will have you toe-tapping and singing long after the movie is finished.

I just love this movie. I have always admired Albert Finney as a serious actor. He has outdone himself in this role. I happen to like the musical version because it has many songs that you can sing along with easily. My favorite is "Thank you very much". I think if you dont see this movie, you will be missing a great holiday treat.

This movie has brought the Christmas spirit into my home for decades. I would love to play the soundtrack while stringing popcorn and cranberries for my freshly chopped tree before the pine needles hit the carpet. Does anyone have any info on when the soundtrack will be released? Signed, 'Old Potato'

I highly recommend this wonderful holiday movie - it's become our family's annual Christmas Eve tradition. The music, songs and dances are just wonderful, and Albert Finney is amazing as Scrooge! This is the most beautiful version of 'A Christmas Carol' you will ever see!

"Thank you very much" for making this wonderful version of A Christmas Carol so enjoyable. It's a family tradition each holiday season, and yes, we sing right along! We would LOVE for the soundtrack to be released. "Father Christmas", "I Like Life" and many more! I hope the powers that be release it soon!

My dad first took us to see this in 1970 at the theater, where we immediately fell in love with old Mr. Scrooge, played by Albert Finney! For two years after we continued to venture out on those cold Saturday afternoons, every Christmas season, to see it at the theater - it became our family tradition! Suddenly it disappeared for years! We always spoke of 'Scrooge the Musical' and when it finally resurfaced a few years back on VHS, there were four, now adult siblings, very excited to see it reappear! It wasn't until recently, that all four of us happened to talk about 'Scrooge' with Albert Finney, and unbeknownst to us, all four of us have made it a family tradition to make a big bowl of popcorn, pop in the tape, and view 'Scrooge' with our own children! I thank my dad (who still watches it every Christmas with mom!) for taking us all to see it that first year...it made such an impression that 33 years later, we now share it with our children! Great family movie and AWESOME music (we sing it all year round around the house!!) This is my all-time favorite holiday movie!

Our family watches this movie every year. My three children, ages 10, 8, & 6 love it! Of course, we don't let them watch the scary parts, too intense for the little ones. I have been searching for the music on CD for years. Disappointed that it can't be found anywhere. Was it ever released?

I was 12 when I first saw this movie the day it was released in theaters, Thanksgiving Day, 1970. After dinner at my grandmother's in Kokomo, IN, my sister, my cousin and I went to the movie. I was mesmerized and never forgot a single moment of this wonderful adaptation of Dickens' classic. Years later, when it first was shown on television, the networks cut out several portions, including the fall into hell. I never understood why because it ruined the entire effect. I found the DVD at Kmart a few days ago and plan to order another copy of the VHS for my mother, who loaned her copy out. The movie was not shown on television last year and is not scheduled this year and that is depriving many of the pleasures and joys of this musical. I share it with people I know.

I will not watch any other version other than the Albert Finney one. The others don't cut it. My son who hates old movies loves this one. He's another Scrooge. I go through the whole T.V. guide looking for that movie but now that the DVD is coming out, I won't have to.
