Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
Sergei, you've been Muppetized! Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Orchestra join the good folks from Sesame Street in this original program, which is sure to hit the right notes with kids and parents. Sergei Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf remains an unbeatable work for introducing kids to orchestral music. And for today's Elmo-tickled tykes, the casting of their favorite fuzzy red Muppet as the brave hero Peter (in Baby Bear's imagination) seems both inspired and inevitable. A somewhat softened take on the tale (minus the Threnody for a Duck, for instance), this still will be a classical gas for children, who will cheer for an encore.

elmo brings a blend of classical music and story.to a thoroughly enjoyable rendition.

By casting the sesame street charaters and members of the Boston Pops Orchestra,we can enjoy the blending rendition of the classical story and music--instruments are clearly defined as being part of the character's part, drama is presented both thru dialogue and music! I personally appreciated that Baby Bear is being introduced to the arts at such a young age..
