I recently decided to stop going to my yoga studio and do yoga at home to save some money, and saw this DVD as a suggestion on a blog so I decided to try it. I loved the option to create your own practice, skip certain types of asanas, and the calm and pleasing voice of the narrative. The music is very simple and soothing and the DVD is great for all levels. I highly recommend it!

This DVD is great. I find the instructor easy to follow and helpful, and the workouts incorporate progressions so that you can push yourself to high levels, all the way to fairly advanced poses. It is a great substitute for class. The best part is that you can create your own workouts by selecting from a list of segments so that you can keep variety in your workouts.

In all areas, this DVD met or exceeded my expectations. It offers "easy" to "difficult" poses and routines, so you can improve without having to spend more money on a more challenging DVD. Her voice is soothing, the music is good, and it mentally and physically challenged me.

In addition to the great explanations of poses and challenging asanas (more difficult than any class I've been to), people like me with a low cheesy tolerance will appreciate the high production values--including low-key music, beautiful settings and editing. Yes, you can deviate from the set routines and make your own workout by choosing which sections to play in what order, which is amazing. The extra archival footage included of Indian festivals and practices in temples is also a nice surprise.

I have done yoga for years both at home and in yoga studios. I have looked for a long time for a yoga workout this good. There are a lot of options. You can follow a work out or create your own and it's very challenging. EXCELLENT!!

a great yoga dvd for the experienced practitioner. now i can practice at home when i can't make it to the studio. shiva does a great job explaining the asanas and the music and location complement the vinyasas beautifully. definately the next best thing to practicing at my studio with my teacher.

This is the best yoga DVD out there! There are so many practices to choose from and it's beautifully produced. It's a yoga DVD that you can start with, stay with and grow with.

I love "Yoga Shakti"! There are 2 DVDs and a booklet inside the case. The first DVD contains all 4 yoga workouts: "Basic Flow", "Solar Flow 1", "Solar Flow 2" and "Lunar Flow". Shiva Rea performs all of these vinyasa flow practices alone on the gorgeous beaches of Maldives' Cocoa Island and Kerala, India. I love the outfits that she chose to wear. The music is spectacular and it's a beautifully produced DVD. The cueing is done in voice-over and Shiva has such a soothing voice. "Basic Flow" and "Lunar Flow" (with the exception of the "inversion" section on "Lunar Flow") are easy and very calming for the body. "Solar Flow 1 and 2" are more energetic and advanced. There's a yoga matrix that allows you to customize your workout. The 2nd DVD contains extras: interview with Shiva, techniques for some of the vinyasa flow (not a guide for beginners to yoga), locations, music on this DVD, etc. I highly recommend "Yoga Shakti", as I think it's the best yoga DVD on the market.

This is by far the best Yoga DVD I've ever purchased. It has 4 pre-programmed sequences and the best part is the 'Yoga matrix' which allows you to pick and choose what sequences you want to do. It is a very motivating and challenging DVD. This DVD includes breathing techniques such as Ha Kriya and Kapalabhati, and also includes meditation along with the asanas. Shiva Rea does an excellent job of demonstrating the poses and the backdrop for the DVD is a picturesque beach with waves lapping. The possibilities for a home practice while using this DVD are endless. This DVD is definitely worth every penny!
