Since her first BBC appearance in 1991, Sister Wendy Beckett has traveled the globe with a documentary crew close behind, exploring art, religion, and culture worldwide. In her latest series, the 70 year-old sister invites viewers to move beyond the worlds of daVinci and Monet to explore the wider riches of six of America's greatest museums: the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, Kimbell Art Museum in Ft. Worth, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Audiences can revel at Gauguin's lush Polynesian painting, the intricate Wedgwood inlays of the oldest-known six-octave piano, Paul Revere's silver Liberty Bowl, masterpieces of Islamic Art, Egyptian sculpture, the works of Vermeer, Cèzanne, Caravaggio, and much more. A co-production with WGBH Boston, this series first aired in the United States on PBS in September of 2001.
