While I realize that movies and books have different constraints and requirements, one at least expects a reasonable similarity. This movie does not provide that and suffers as a result. For one thing, the characters in the movie seem to be scrambled--i.e. a character who plays one part in the novel plays a different one in the film. In short the book is far better. I was quite disappointed but I suppose that, if I hadn't expected it to resemble the book, it wouldn't have been too bad.

It's fresh when a film that features voices that have not existed in mainstream cinema. This film was suspenseful. The character's presuppositions about situations based on their experiences was detailed and interesting to watch. The movie captured vast desert terrain as well as effectively letting the interior worlds of the characters unfold. Beautiful.

Doesnt at all follow the book, but it is entertaining, nonetheless. Adam Beach does a good job and it is well directed. Definitely worth watching id say

Although the movie did not follow the book, it was suspenseful and kept your attention throughout. All the characters were interesting with good acting. The scenery was beautiful and since I love the Southwest, it brought back good memories. The references to the Navajo were interesting. I am sending this video to my cousin who loves Tony Hillerman and the Southwest.
