A midseason replacement that premiered on Fox in March 1995, Sliders stars Jerry O'Connell as Quinn Mallory, a brilliant grad student who creates a device that can open wormhole gateways to parallel Earth-like universes, allowing him to "slide" between worlds. To test his invention, he invites co-worker Wade Welles Sabrina Lloyd and his physics professor, Dr. Max Arturo John Rhys-Davies to his basement lab in San Francisco. Unfortunately, Quinn uses too much power, and the resulting vortex sucks the trio in along with a man driving by in his car, Rembrandt Lee Brown Cleavant Derricks. Throughout the rest of the series the group slides between alternate realities -- such as Elvis World, where the King is alive and well and gigging five nights a week at the Mirage -- while trying to find their way home to San Francisco. Sliders ran for five seasons, three of them on Fox and the last two on cable's Sci-Fi network. This set collects the 23 episodes comprising Sliders' first two seasons.

    The best!!!

    I can't WAIT to have this on DVD. I have them all taped from when they aired on scifi all the time. Now my husband is happy that I'm getting the VHS tapes out of the basement :D

    One of my sci-fi all-time favorites.

    Some of us might not want to admit it but, at least to me, this was one of my favorite all-time sci-fi tv series. This and 'Quantum Leap'. It had some truly engaging plots. Very entertaining and enjoyable.
