    Sad but lovely

I rented Solomon and Gaenor primarily because I loved Ioan Gruffudd's performance in A&E's Horatio Hornblower series (which I *highly* recommend). I loved this movie. It is a fairly conventional Romeo and Juliet type story, but told in a refreshing way - it has real emotion without being overly sentimental. Both lead actors turn in rich performances without going overboard into melodrama. Additionally, the scenery and the score are both gorgeous. Definitely check this movie out.
