    GREAT INDIE!

Fantastic film that captures the dark side of Hollywood that we normally do not hear about. I am assuming that Danny Trejo's son (Gilbert Trejo) played his actual son in the film. Wayne Pere (The Soundman) gave a performance to die for.

    Premiere Online

A truly fascinating indie made several years ago, Soundman plays like a low-budget Taxi Driver set in Hollywood. Igby is the quintessential oddball loner, a Travis Bickle with headphones, whose infatuation with a woman emboldens him to take risks he¿d normally avoid at all costs. Igby¿s confrontations with arrogant directors and know-nothing producers end predictably ¿ up to a point. That¿s when director Ho unshackles his imagination and turns it loose with darkly hilarious results. This film festival favorite sports an interesting supporting cast that includes Wes Studi, Tamlyn Tomita and Danny Trejo; renters will find the faces familiar even if they can¿t remember their names. While generally low key, Soundman at times is savagely funny and should find a receptive audience among discriminating renters.

I know an Igby and his name is (fill in blank here)

Very distrubingly funny film that is not afraid to carry the viewer from one emotion to the opposite with the flip of a switch. Difficult to categorize into a genre, but this is also what makes it so appealing. Quite reminiscent of French cinema. Nick Stahl from ''In the Bedroom'' plays hilariously with Wayne Pere (the ''Soundman'').

    Amazing Indie!

This is probably one of the best true independent films that I have seen in a long while. Wayne Pere (The Soundman) gives a stellar performance that rivals the best of them! Really a gem to find. Directing and music is top notch.
