I happened to catch a recording of this being broadcast on public television and just had to go online to see if it could be purchased. I was thrilled to add it to my Christmas Wish List. It is amazing! Regardless of the Concert Hall style performance, you are still immediately drawn into the story! Talk about some phenominal singing! Wow!

This is one of the best sung performances of South Pacific that I have ever seen or heard! I personally was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in 2003 and 2004 with a 300-plus member choral group, and the great visuals of Carnegie Hall bring back such wonderful memories, ones that I will never forget. Unfortunately, our performance was not videotaped, but seeing this performance makes me feel as I'm back there on stage. Brian Stokes Mitchell, Reba McIntire and Alec Baldwin are fantastic! And I can fully understand the tears they shed. This was offered as a gift from our public television station during a fundraiser, and the donation was $75, so this price is a bargain. We saw Brian Stokes Mitchell in "The Impossible Dream" on Broadway and tickets were $125 just to see him. Buy it and enjoy it anytime you want!

I really enjoyed this DVD performance of "South Pacific." The actors were exceptional. I am a teacher and I used it to show my high school students how a concert performance should be. They thoroughly enjoyed it.
