Space Thing

Overview

Another fun-filled disc from Something Weird Video, this sexploitation science fiction flick has a clean full-frame (standard) transfer with excellent color balance. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 (mono) and tends to be a little heavy on the high end. The highlight of the disc is another entertaining commentary track featuring Mike Vraney of Something Weird Video and producer/director/writer David F. Friedman. The highlight of the disc is another entertaining commentary track featuring Mike Vraney of Something Weird Video and producer/director/writer David F. Friedman. One of the first things that Friedman states is that Space Thing is one of the worst movies ever made and it was only through the friendly coaxing of Vraney that he agreed to allow it to be released. Together they provide numerous anecdotes and in general offer a priceless guide to exploitation films. There is also a "Gallery of Exploitation Art" included, with approximately 80 images and a theatrical trailer for the film. The disc is completed by the inclusion of two short films: "Roll-Oh The Robot," which runs about three minutes and offers a futuristic solution to household chores, and a four-minute vintage advertising spot entitled "The Dance of Tomorrow."
