The songs may not be much, though with Elvis singing them they get better treatment than their content might otherwise merit, and the plot is forgettable, but the supporting cast -- including Bill Bixby and veteran funnymen Gale Gordon and Carl Ballantine -- have their moments, and Nancy Sinatra is pretty to look at. Of course, next to next and the other movies that Elvis Presley was making by this point in his career, his early films -- King Creole, Jailhouse Rock, Loving You, Flaming Star -- look like high art, but if you're going to watch these late-career pictures, this is the way to do it, more so than any full-screen broadcast version.

    It's Elvis--good songs, cute story...

but really, now we're getting into the cookie-cutter movies that he was contracted to do. I like this one, as Bill Bixby is a well-meaning troublemaker and Elvis is the hero at the end. And it's Elvis--what's not to love?
