Editorial Reviews

Los Angeles Times - Kevin Thomas
It marks an unusually mature feature debut for writer-director [Nickolas] Perry, who combines visual grace and nuanced portrayals from an array of carefully chosen actors, including Daryl Hannah, in one of her sharper performances.

nice to see love find its way

Even though the filming is a little rough in places, and some of the scenes sophomoric, the story is great and the characters are so well developed that you wind up sharing their feelings and even, by the end, caring about what happens to them.

This could be an ''After School Special''

The storyline is good but, for a story about street hustlers, lacks any grit. Other than Johnny getting tossed through a window these guys aren't living too bad. Sure Eric has a cheap room but at least he's sleeping inside! The hustlers are even separated from the drug dealers and appear to be a class above. And none of these guys, especially Steven, come across as being the slightest bit street-wise. For the most part, this is a movie that you could let your kids watch without fear.
