Overview

Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd star in the comedy Spies Like Us. Warner has put forth an only halfhearted attempt at making sure this transfer looks as good as possible. The film is presented in a cropped 1.33:1 full-frame transfer with all the imperfections of a pan-and-scan feature: dirt, grain, and a softness in the image that is often intrusive.

While some of the colors and black levels appear in decent shape, others are soft or display bleeding in the image. Overall this is a very lackluster transfer to what some consider a classic comedy from the 1980s. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround and doesn't offer much in the way of fidelity or dynamic range. While the mix is clear of any excessive hiss or distortion, not a single directional effect is to be found on this audio track. No alternate subtitles or soundtracks are available on this disc. Sadly, fans are stuck with a completely bare-bones edition of this film -- not even a single theatrical trailer has been tacked onto this DVD.

    Classically Funny 80's Cheese Flick

This is a classic 80's cheese flick! It's like National Lampoons meets Fletch! It has some cheese factor to it but is overall a hilarious movie. Aykroyd + Chase + any script= HILARIOUS! Worth the few bucks...watch it! by Tones®
