This twin-pack featuring two popular animated features finds both films given a deluxe presentation on DVD. The Road to El Dorado has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc at the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1, while Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron has been transferred at 2.35:1; both discs have been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. The Road to El Dorado comes with three mixes of the English-language soundtrack -- in Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS 5.1, and Dolby Digital Stereo -- as well as English subtitles and no multiple language options, while Spirit features English tracks in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround, a Spanish track in Dolby Digital Surround, and a French track in Dolby Digital 5.1, along with subtitles in French, Spanish, and English. Bonus material on The Road to El Dorado includes a commentary track from the filmmakers, notes on the production, talent biographies, a short documentary on the making of the film, a music video featuring songs from the film by Elton John, the theatrical trailer, and more items which can be accessed on computers with DVD-ROM drives, such as a demo version of a video game tied to the film, coloring pages, interactive games, reading exercises, and more. Spirit is also jam-packed with bonus material, including filmmaker's commentaries, production artwork, a short documentary on the music for the film, a look at how the animators brought together hand-drawn and computer-generated images for this project, and more DVD-ROM goodies, with a variety of interactive games, activities, and a special program that allows users to create their own animated shorts.
