Screenwriter John Fusco returns to the Western themes of his previous films Young Guns and Thunderheart with this animated children's adventure from Dreamworks. Matt Damon supplies the voice of Spirit, a wild Mustang stallion living free in the Old West of the late 19th century, where he's captured by human horse traders and sold to a cavalry regiment at a frontier outpost. There, a cruel colonel (voice of James Cromwell) nearly succeeds in breaking the willful horse, but not quite. Spirit escapes in the company of another captive, Little Creek (voice of Daniel Studi), a Native American youth that tries to possess the magnificent animal by more humane means, but Spirit refuses to bend to human will even when he makes the acquaintance of Little Creek's beautiful and fiercely loyal mare, Rain. After he saves Little Creek's life in an Army raid, Spirit believes that the gravely injured Rain has perished after a tumble over a waterfall. Despondent, the horse is captured again by humans, enslaved this time for work in a pack team on the transcontinental railroad. Undaunted by the tragedies that befall him, Spirit manages to escape for a reunion with Little Creek, Rain, and his long-lost brethren. Featuring songs by rock singer Bryan Adams, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron departs from other examples of its genre in that the horse protagonists do not speak or sing; only Spirit's voice is heard as voice-over narration.

Spirit: Stallion Of The Cimerron is one of the best movies I have ever seen in my life. Since The Lion King, I thought that there could not be any movie that can be as good as The Lion King. But when I watched Spirit: Stallion Of The Cimerron, my mind has changed. It is an outstanding movie that has been created after The Lion King. This is the movie that involves full of emotion. The setting of the movie is absolutely brilliant. Needless to say that, the music and songs are obviously amazing. This is the movie that will blow your mind into the movie. The movie will change your feelings from happyness to sadness even cry. I have watched it many times and I still like to watch it. This is the most enjoyable movie for all ages. Visit the Spirit web site for more information about the movie. SPIRIT IS THE STUNNING!!!
I loved this movie!! Two things that I would have changed were when Spirit laps up the water like a dog, and the foals that Spirit saved from the cougar. Spirit was gone for like a year and they didn't grow an inch by the time he came back. I am a Lion King person and that was my favorite movie, but I couldn't choose my fav. between the two. I love them both. I am definatly hoping for a sequel.
Spirit is most definitely one of my favorite animated films of all time. The story is well written and keeps the viewers' focus; the animation is superb, particularly in the beginning when the eagle is flying over the landscape, and also when Spirit jumps in the water after Rain and the ''camera'' goes underwater. This movie ignites the viewers' emotions and captures the audience's hearts with wonderful animation and powerful songs that make Spirit a completely unforgettable film for all ages to enjoy.
This movie was just plain great!!! The animation was beautiful, the horses seemed real, the songs were great (go Bryan Adams!) and everything was just fantastic!!! I really liked this movie because I am a horse fanatic!!! There is nothing that I dosliked about this movie at all. I recommend it for horse lovers of all ages
I am a big fan of horses so when i first saw the previews for this movie, I was like, ''Wow. I have to see that movie.'' So I did and what I found out was that the movie was just as great as i expected it to be! It had great animation (everything looked so real!) beautiful backgrounds, and much much more! The soundtrack that goes with the movie is also very great. I recommend this movie to horse lovers of all ages!
MY Favorite Movie Ever! <3 watched it all the time when i was little
This was so enjoyable. Me and my sister love it. The horse does not talk, which I love, it makes it more realistic, the closest you get is the narration. Beautiful. Parents, I think would love to see it with their children. Sure to please any horse lover, nothing that you should be alarmed about, a person "Almost" swears, but doesn't finish. This is one of the best movies, I highly recommend it. I would love it if they made a sequel (Who knows? maybe it will happen eventally) Try to watch it if you haven't already. It's terrific.
This movie sent shivers down my spine. Any horse lover would truly fall in love with it. This story is truly remarcable real or not. The way a loving horse wishes to regain his freedom, back to his herd. The moral of this story is...Never let go of what's in your heart. Magic flows within it.
CLEARLY, ONE OF THE BEST ANIMATED FEATURES THAT I'VE EVER SEEN. INCREDIBLE GRAPHICS AND A WONDERFUL SOUNDTRACK MAKE THIS THIS ONE OF THE ALL-TIME GREATS. MY DAUGHTERS LOVE THIS FILM, AND ARE GLAD TO HAVE IT AS PART OF THEIR PERSONAL COLLECTION. HOORAY FOR DREAMWORKS! BRAVISIMO!
i`m happy if i see ti
This was a great movie, my whole family loved it. The only problem I saw with it is that, horses do not lap water, when drinking! Other than that it was great!
Spirit is the best horse movie ever and is definately in the top 5 of my list!!!! It is one of the only movies that makes me cry!! But i LUV it ~~~~~~~ I recommed it for everyone!!!
I am a horseman (woman actually) and this movie IS NOT FOR THE TRUE HORSEMAN or anyone else for that matter. There was no real storyline to the movie, the music did not fit the movie and there was little realism (a horse running sideways on a rock face or jumping a chasm that a motorcycle wouldn't have made is not very realistic) I have had a horse or worked with horses for 27 years. The only realism that I saw was the friendship that was between the horses and the indian, and the way the calvary broke horses. It would have been a good fictional kind of movie if the storyline had been better developed.
Spirit is an outstanding film with new animation and graphic techniques that surpass all previuos animated movies. The music preformed by Bryan Adams is one of the best parts of the movies it litterly pulls you in and gives you an emotional connection with the characters, heck this movies isn't meant for little children but adults and teens as well.
Spirit will blow you away!! An absualuty STUNNING film. The score and the movie blows your mind off other stuff. So you can concentrat watching it. Buy this movie now!!!It is full of emotions. You`ll cry,be in suspense, and laugh at this AMAZING film!!
This movie was VERY VERY GOOD!!! I loved it!!!! Its a great movie for horse lovers!!!! :)
''Spirit'' was an accurate assessment of true genetics of horses and the sounds of the horses were real. Very pleasing to the true horseman!
Spirit, Stallion of The Cimerron, is a movie that's keeps you nickering for more! It really drew you into it...and you couldn't get out!! At times, especially when the herd was running, you will be running with the horses, hoof beat per hoof beat, racing in the wind! I have always wanted for the movie makers to make a movie that is a cartoon horse show. They should continue in a series. SPIRIT is a must for young horse lovers. Appeals to adults, too! Funny, smart, and teaches the bond between true friends! This is a MUST SEE!!
When I first rented this movie for my little sisters I really didn't want to see it myself but since I had nothing else to do I decided to watch it with them. I loved that movie so much it was fun, thrilling, and scary at some times. But it was an all over wonderful movie. I would recomend this movie to everyone who loves horses, good music, and a lot of laughs.
When I rented this movie I thought, ''great a talking horse movie.'' But, something just told me to rent it and was I fascinated. The landscaping backgrounds are so breathtaking. The story line was unique and interesting and the music by Brian Adams was so connected to Spirit. I laughed and cryed and truly enjoyed the experience of it all. I am an adult...and I am buying it today. I liked it that much. You are truly missing something if you do not see it. Four years of hard work making it truly paid off.
