Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
If you have yet to be hooked by Nickelodeon's animated sensation, take this bait: five cartoons, and not one you'd want to throw back. In "Shanghaied," Spongebob Squarepants, his best friend, Patrick, and curmudgeonly neighbor Squidward wind up as the ghostly crew of the Flying Dutchman. Next, Spongebob's pet snail refuses to get into the tub in "Gary Takes a Bath." "Hooky" finds Patrick and Spongebob enjoying the extreme sport of riding fishermen's hooks to the surface and jumping off (Patrick exults, "They're covered with free cheese!"). A popped borrowed balloon forces Spongebob and Patrick to go on the lam in "Life of Crime," and Spongebob loses his self-confidence when a customer claims that chef Spongebob forgot to put pickles on his krabby patty in "Pickles." Positively Python-esque in its gleeful silliness, Spongebob appeals to children and adults. It is 20,000 leagues above other animated series.

    Great!

This DVD was awesome. "Jellyfish Jam" is amusing, because the jellyfish love music! I loved "No Weenies Allowed" because a doorman won't let SpongeBob into his club for the tough.(I loved it when he put on a black wig to fool the doorman.) Have a good laugh!

    SPONGEBOB!!!

Spongebob is such a great show. My mom, sister, and I love to watch it together when we need good laughs. It is a shame that idiots like Jerry Falwell have nothing better to do than down great cartoons as this one. Calling Spongebob a homosexual and what not is just stupid. Falwell needs a life, if he wants a cartoon to crack down on, let him crack down on Barney.

spongebob (my name is bob too- i know, wierd right)

I am an 80 year old man. I am not wearing socks right now. i should go put some on because my feet are cold. I liked ''Spongebob Squarepants: Sea Stories'' a LOT. When i took it out of the box, it smelled the cranberries. Why is that? My wife used to make this cranberry...stuffing. it was DEELISH. You should come over some time and have some. Any hoo, i give this 5 stars, although in actuality its been told to me, that there are billions and billions of stars in the galaxy, like i've got time to count them- get this, there are supposed to be as many stars as there are grains of sand in each of the beaches in the world. Ive been to a lot of beaches- some of them you have to park so far away ITS CRAZY! got all that stuff to carry..who do they think they are? maybe i should have one of them carry my cooler. (its big)

    Actually, Spongebob is very educational!

SB is very educational, especially if you take a close look at what they are saying and/or doing in the shows. Plus, the biggest bonus, is that SB is hilarious and great for all ages!

You gotta love that little square dude!

As a college student I just love the inside jokes in this children's cartoon. Spongebob Squarepants has something for everyone, no matter what your age. It's perfect for your entire family. This particular DVD will contain the following 10 episodes: ''Gary Takes A Bath'' (very rare- I've acually never seen this episode), ''Hooky'', ''No Free Rides'', ''Sailor Mouth'', ''Life Of Crime'', ''No Weenies Allowed'', ''Pickles'', ''Jellyfish Jam'', ''The Algae's Always Greener'', ''Shanghaied'' (with all 3 endings- this is also a rare Spongebob episode.)
