Stan Laurel before he began getting Ollie into nice messes...

Many say that Stan Laurel wasn't funny before he teamed up with Oliver Hardy to create on of the best (if not the best) comedy duo the world has ever seen. That is simply not true! This collection has many funny moments and shows a different side to Stan Laurel than the innocent dope he portrayed in the L&H shorts and feature films. He chases skirts, runs from the cops, and plays simple-minded saps who always manage to get into some sort of trouble.

Many of the gags and plots in these shorts will be familiar to Laurel and Hardy fans, since many of them were reworked or re-used in their vehicles. And look out for L&H recurring foil, Jimmy Finlayson, who co-stars in roughly half of the shorts here.
