This film brought me in tears. It's a good film that makes you think of how just simple boys even though they have a bad life, tend to bring the most of it. River Phoenix's acting is superb, and incredible. (He's one of my favorite actors.) This film is great because: 1.The boys tend to really bond together, and they make a great mix. 2. The events are really captivating and life like, 3. Acting=fantastic 4. A lot of drama and emotion. 5. The ending leaves you satisfied but you want the film to keep going. Bottom line: Just watch it! :)
Rob Riner has created the best movie that has ever been filmed. Wil Wheaton, River Pheonix, Corey Feldman, and Jerry O'Connel have all given outstanding preformances. Since I bough it-actually it was a gift-and have watched it at least thirty times. BEST MOVIE EVER MADE! I'm twelve and that's how old you should be to watch it because all the boys are twelve and thirteen so you can relate to them very easily. It funny and heartwarming. You should be twelve, like I said, but it's only rated R because of swearing and teen drinking and smoking. BUY IT OR RENT IT!
great movie! I love and miss River Phoniex.
Stand by Me is one of my favorite movies of all time. I think that every boy around the age of twelve or thirteen should see this movie sometime or another in their lives. It is truly an amazing film, with great actors, a great script, and is just simply a great movie. However, this review is not on the movie itself, because I've just explained that. The Blu- ray transfer is what I want to talk about. The transfer is ineffable. It is simply amazing. Color is a big factor here, because the color is much more rich and stands out more. It is not as grainy as the previous DVD releases, and you really see the contours on the kids faces and you really see details of the movie that you really never noticed before. Buy this movie, you won't be sorry. Trust me!
This movie was sad and funny at the same time. I'm not a fan of very sad movies, but I love funny ones. This was a great mix, and it was very entertaining. I've watched it a ton of times, and it never gets old. You have to watch it, it's a classic!
This is one of the few movies I can watch over and over again without getting tired of it. This is an excellent example of people being born with talent and not receiving it later on in life (like many believe). It has an excellent story line and excellent acting. I wouldn't add or take anything away from it.
Best movie ever! well one of the best anyway, great movie if your bored. And even if your not its great! river phoenix is absolutely spectacular! (and also good looking! hahaha!) I had to watch it with my R.E class and we were all hooked on it. It was brilliant!
This movie, and I know I am not alone, by far, when I say this, is one of my favourites. I watched when I was still and adolescent and it became a defining piece for me - it captures that time between being a child and being an adolescent, and all the confusion, and angst that come with it perfectly. Despite the fact that I grew up in a different time and a different country, I could still relate to it, because it is about common experiences (not that I ever went looking for a dead boy with my buddies). The story (The Body) by Stephen King is superb, and the script funny and real. The casting was excellent, for me, it will always be the late River Phoenix who stands out - he will always be missed. He had such an amazing presence in this movie on screen, such charm, that it reminded me of James Dean. Well, that`s just me. The directing is excellent, and the soundtrack, well, we all know that - amazing! This movie will stand the test of time.
Nostalgia is my middle name and this movie makes me feel like it! It¿s such a good movie and will last for YEARS! Does not need to be re-made. Was made the best the first time around. I REALLY REALLY love this MOVIE! Now that im talking about it I have "stand by me" song playing in my head and want to go home and watch this!
Omg this movie is the best it makes you cry it makes you laugh! Corey Feldman and River Phoenix are so so so hott!
This is the best movie that you will ever see. It teaches you about all the hard times that you will come across in life. It has brilliant performances from the gorgeous River Phoenix and Wil Heaton. If you haven't seen this movie you've got to watch it. You never know it might just make you look at things differently.
A little un catholic, but i am willing to overlook that fact due to its excelent plot and enthralling themes and gripping climax
This is a great movie With Boys searching to find a dead body Of Ray Brower The movie has comedy and drama Its a heartwarming movie that will make you Laugh cry and put you in a Good mood
A brillant character study surrounding a journey down a set of railroad tracks to find a dead body by a group of friends. It reflects the dicotomy of youth in it's raw emotion of ups and downs. The best.
This is one of the best movies I have seen. I am a bing Stephen King Fan; and the sound track speaks for itself.
Very touching, poignant, coming of age movie. I highly recommend it to anyone. Excellent performances turned in by the entire cast, especially Wil Wheaton, and River Phoenix. Buy it!!!
Great acting from the kids and Kiefer Sutherland. Based on Stephen KIng's The Body. I love watching this.
A very awsome movie. It has laughter, and tears and it will have you smiling the whole way through. If you haven't seen this movie you have to. It is a must see.
This was a great movie. I really liked Corey Feldmans character Teddy. And the song at the end of the movie is very sad. I liked this movie enough to watch it, rewind it and watch it again.
This is the best movie ever! You'll laugh and cry. River Phoenix is sooo hot in this movie! The whole cast is excellent!
